Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a muezzin who used to call the adhan quickly, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The adhan is a way of gentleness and ease. If you are going to call the adhan with gentleness and ease, then fine, otherwise do not call it."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) was instructed: He should recite the words of the adhan in even numbers and the words of the iqamah in odd numbers. While saying the iqamah, he should turn to the right and left and call out.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the words of the adhan were said twice and the words of the iqamah were said once.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the words of the adhan were said twice and the words of the iqamah were said once, except that when the mu’adhdhin recited“Qad qamatis-salah,”he would say it twice.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was commanded to say the words of the adhan in even numbers and the words of the iqamah in odd numbers, except for "Qad qamatis salah," which should be said twice.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say the words of the adhan twice and the words of the iqamah once, except for“Qad qamatis salah,”which he used to say twice.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was commanded to say the words of the adhan in even numbers and the words of the iqamah in odd numbers.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to recite the words of the adhan in even numbers and the words of the iqamah in odd numbers.

This narration is also transmitted with another chain of transmission.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to recite the words of the adhan in even numbers and the words of the iqamah in odd numbers.
