Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: This is Sunnah, that the ritual bath (ghusl) for major impurity is performed with one sa’ of water, and ablution (wudu) is performed with one ratl of water. One sa’ is equal to eight ratl. This narration has only been transmitted from the narrator Mansur by the narrator Salih, and this person is weak.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform ablution with two ratl (of water), and he (peace be upon him) would perform ghusl with one sa’, that is, eight ratl of water.
