Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) ruled that for a woman's food, fifteen sa' of Hijazi grain should be allocated every month, and for oil and other necessities, two dirhams should be set aside.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We measured the Sa’ of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and it turned out to be a Hijazi measure. Sa’id said: The Hijazi is equal to the Mudd of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) fixed fifteen saa' of grain and two dirhams every month for the woman whom her husband had harmed.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If a man is away from his wife and does not send her maintenance, then the woman can take her sustenance from her husband's wealth.
