Chapter on Etiquette of Sleep – On the prohibition of sleeping before and staying up after the night prayer
Hadith Number: 5548
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا ابن علية ، عن عوف ، عن ابي المنهال ، عن ابي برزة ، قال:" نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن النوم قبلها، والحديث بعدها، يعني عشاء الآخرة" .
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade sleeping before this (Isha prayer) and talking after it. The narrator meant the Isha prayer.
