Hadith of Nadlah ibn 'Amr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 18962
It is narrated from Hazrat Nazlah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he met the Prophet at a place called Mareen. When his pregnant goats or she-camels were gathered near him, he gave milk to the Prophet, and whatever was left, he himself drank, and with that his stomach was filled. He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Previously, I used to drink seven bowls but would not be satisfied." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A believer drinks in one intestine, and a disbeliever in seven intestines."

Hadith of Umayyah ibn Makhshee (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 18963
Jabir bin Subh says that Mathna bin Abdur Rahman, whose companionship I had up to Wasit, used to say "Bismillah fi awwalihi wa akhirihi" at the beginning and at the last morsel of food. Once I asked him, "You recite Bismillah at the beginning of the meal, but what is the need to say it at the last morsel?" He replied, "I will tell you the reason for this. I heard my grandfather, Hazrat Umayyah bin Makhshi, who was among the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), say that once a man was eating food while the Prophet (peace be upon him) was watching him. He did not recite Bismillah. When he reached the last morsel, he remembered that he had not recited Bismillah, so he said, 'Bismillah awwalihi wa akhirihi.' Upon hearing this, the Prophet said, 'Satan kept eating with him, but when he recited Bismillah, Satan vomited out whatever was in his stomach.'"

Hadith Number: 18964
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Rabee’ah that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) was on a journey. He heard the muezzin saying "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah" (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah), so he himself said, "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah." Then when the muezzin said, "Ashhadu anna Muhammadur Rasulullah" (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah), the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Ashhadu anna Muhammadur Rasulullah." Then he said, "Find out whether this man is a shepherd of goats or someone who has withdrawn from his family." Then, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) descended into the valley, he passed by a dead goat whose skin had been removed and it had been thrown away. The Prophet said, "Do you think that this has become insignificant in the eyes of its owners? As insignificant as this is in the eyes of its owners, the whole world is even more insignificant in the sight of Allah."

Hadith Number: 18967
Abu Salam says that a man was passing through the mosque of Homs. People said that this person has served the Prophet. I got up and went to him and requested, "Tell me a hadith which you yourself have heard from the Prophet, with no intermediary in between?" He replied, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever, every morning and evening, says these words three times: رضيت بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم نبيا (I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as my Prophet), then it is Allah’s responsibility to please him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

It is narrated from a servant of the Prophet who served the Prophet (peace be upon him) for eight years that whenever food was presented before the Prophet, he (peace be upon him) would begin by saying "Bismillah" and when he finished eating, he would recite this supplication: "O Allah, You have fed and given drink, granted sufficiency and sustenance, You have given guidance and life, praise is due to You for Your bounties."

Hadith Number: 18971
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Adra’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was guarding the Prophet at night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out for some work, and when he saw me, he took hold of my hand and we started walking. On the way, we passed by a man who was reciting the Qur’an in a loud voice during prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Perhaps he is doing this to show off.”I said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! He is reciting the Qur’an in a loud voice during prayer.”Upon this, the Prophet let go of my hand and said,“You cannot judge this matter based on mere assumption.”Once again, in the same way, I was guarding at night when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out for some work and took hold of my hand and we started walking. Again, on the way, we passed by a man who was reciting the Qur’an in a loud voice. This time, I took the initiative and said,“Perhaps he is doing this to show off.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Absolutely not, he is very devoted in turning to Allah.”I inquired and found out that he was Abdullah Dhu’l-Bijadain.
