It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Four types of people continue to receive reward even after their death: (one) a person who performed a good deed whose effect continues, (two) a person who gave ongoing charity, (three) a person who left behind righteous children who pray for him.

Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us from Khalid ibn Abi Imran from Abu Umamah from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he mentioned it except that he said: "And whoever teaches knowledge, the like of what he taught will be written for him."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group from my Ummah will always remain dominant and steadfast on the religion. They will prevail over their enemies and will not care about those who oppose them or those who abandon them, except if they are afflicted with some hardship, until Allah's command comes, and they will remain in this state." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Where will these people be?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "In Bayt al-Maqdis and its surroundings."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which charity is the best?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Providing shade of a tent in the way of Allah, or serving a warrior for the sake of Allah, or letting someone ride a male animal for the sake of Allah."

The last hadith of Abu Umamah, may Allah the Exalted be pleased with him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hind Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever does any deed for show and fame, Allah will hand him over to show and fame on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon Syria will be conquered at your hands. When you are given the choice to settle at any place there, choose the city called "Damascus," for it will be the best refuge for Muslims in times of war.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Sa'di (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he, along with his companions, presented himself in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). His companions said to him, "Take care of our mounts, you can go later," because he was the youngest among the people. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fulfilled the needs of all of them. Then his companions sent him to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he presented himself, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also asked him about his need. He said, "My need is that you tell me whether migration (hijrah) has ended?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your need is better than all of their needs. Migration will not end as long as fighting against the enemy continues."

An old woman from Banu Namir says that before the migration, I saw the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) at the place of Abtah, facing the Kaaba and leading people in prayer. I have memorized this supplication from him (peace be upon him): O Allah! Forgive my sins and my ignorance.

An Ansari woman, who was among those who pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace be upon him), says that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Banu Salamah with his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them). We presented food to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) ate it. Then we presented water for ablution, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ablution. Turning to his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), he said, "Shall I not tell you about those things which become expiation for sins?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Why not!" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Performing ablution thoroughly despite natural dislike, frequently walking to the mosques, and waiting for the next prayer after performing one prayer."
