It is narrated from Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the night of Arafah, I was riding behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the sun had set, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from the plain of Arafat. Suddenly, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the noise of people rushing behind him, so he said, "O people! Go gently, make calmness obligatory upon yourselves, for hastening the mounts is not a virtue." Then, whenever there was a crowd of people, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would slow down his mount, and wherever the path was open, he would increase the pace, until he reached Muzdalifah, and there he offered both the Maghrib and Isha prayers together.

Then, wherever there was a crowd of people, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would slow down his mount, and where the path was open, he would increase the pace, until he reached the valley where people used to make their mounts sit. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also made his she-camel sit there, then relieved himself and cleansed himself with water, then performed ablution after water was brought to him. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! The time for prayer has come." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Prayer is ahead of you." Then he mounted his ride and reached Muzdalifah, where he offered Maghrib and Isha prayers together.

Aamir bin Sa’d (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man came to Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask about the plague. Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) said,“I will tell you about it. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The plague is a punishment which Allah the Exalted sent upon the people before you (the Children of Israel). Sometimes it comes and sometimes it goes. Therefore, if an epidemic spreads in a region, do not go into that region, and if an epidemic spreads in a region where you are already present, do not flee from it.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Where will you stay tomorrow?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Has Aqeel left any place for us to stay?" Then he said, "Tomorrow, God willing, we will camp at Khaif Banu Kinana, where the Quraysh had made a pact of disbelief and sworn oaths." The details of this are that Banu Kinana had made an agreement with the Quraysh against Banu Hashim that they would not engage in marriage, buying and selling, or provide shelter to Banu Hashim. Then he said, "No disbeliever can inherit from a Muslim, and no Muslim can inherit from a disbeliever."

It is narrated from Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rode on a donkey which had a saddle on it, and underneath it was a Fadak cloak. He seated Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) behind him. At that time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was going to visit Hazrat Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Banu Harith bin Khazraj. This incident took place before the Battle of Badr. On the way, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a gathering in which there were Muslims, idol-worshipping polytheists, and Jews, and among them was Abdullah bin Ubayy, and also Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him). When the dust from the riding animal rose in that gathering, Abdullah bin Ubayy placed his cloak over his nose and said,“Do not raise dust over us.”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped there, greeted them with salam, and after a short while, dismounted and began inviting them towards Allah and reciting the Qur’an to them. Seeing this, Abdullah bin Ubayy said,“O brother! If what you are saying is true, then there is nothing better than it, but do not come to our gatherings and trouble us. Please return to your place, and whoever comes to you, present these things to him.”Upon this, Abdullah bin Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him) said,“Please do come to our gatherings, for we like it.”Thus, a heated argument arose between the Muslims, polytheists, and Jews, and it was close that they would clash with each other, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept calming them down. When they became calm, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his ride and went to Hazrat Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him,“Sa’d! Did you hear what Abu Hubab (Abdullah bin Ubayy) said? He said such and such.”Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) replied,“O Messenger of Allah! Please forgive him and overlook it. By Allah! Allah has given you the status He intended for you. The people here were about to crown him as king, but Allah rejected it through the truth He gave you, and this was hard for him to bear, so he acted in this way.”Thus, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forgave him.

Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, he informed me that 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, that Usamah ibn Zayd informed him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "rode a donkey with a saddle covered with a Fadakiyah velvet cloth, and he seated Usamah ibn Zayd behind him, visiting Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah among the Banu al-Khazraj before the Battle of Badr, and he mentioned it, and said: al-Bahrah."
