It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in the Battle of Khaybar with my masters. They spoke to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about me, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave an order regarding me, and a sword was hung around my neck (it was so big that) I used to drag it on the ground as I walked. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that I was a slave, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I should also be given something from the remaining spoils.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in the Battle of Khaybar with my masters. They spoke to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about me, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a command regarding me, and a sword was hung around my neck (it was so big that) I used to drag it on the ground as I walked. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that I was a slave, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I also be given something from the remaining spoils. And I presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) an incantation with which I used to perform exorcism on the possessed during the time of ignorance. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Remove such-and-such words from it and perform exorcism with the rest.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was coming with my master with the intention of migration. When we reached near Madinah Munawwarah, my master entered Madinah Munawwarah and left me by the mount. After a while, I was overcome by severe hunger. Meanwhile, a man coming from outside Madinah Munawwarah passed by me and said to me, "Go inside Madinah and pick some fruit from one of its gardens and eat." So I entered a garden and picked two bunches. In the meantime, the owner of the garden also arrived. He took me to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him my story. At that time, I was wearing two garments. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me, "Which of these two is the better?" I pointed to one of the garments. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Keep this one for yourself and give the other garment to the owner of the garden," and then he let me go.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) standing at a place called "Ahjar al-Zayt" (which is near the place of Zawra), making the supplication for rain (du'a istisqa). At that time, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the inner sides of his palms facing towards his face.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) standing at a place called "Ahjar al-Zayt" (which is near the place of Zawra), making the supplication for rain (du'a istisqa). At that time, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the inner sides of his palms facing towards his face.

Yazid ibn Harun and Ya'la narrated to us, they said: 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us from Abu al-Zubayr from Safwan. Yazid ibn 'Abd Allah said: and he mentioned it.

Rifa’ah bin Shaddad says: One day I was standing by the bedside of Mukhtar. When it became clear to me that he was a liar, by Allah, I intended to draw my sword and strike off his neck. But then I remembered a hadith which ‘Amr bin al-Hamq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me, that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever grants safety to a Muslim for his life and then kills him afterwards, a banner of treachery will be raised for him on the Day of Resurrection.

Rifa’ah bin Shaddad says that once I went to Mukhtar, he placed a cushion for me and said,“If my brother Jibra’il (peace be upon him) had not gotten up from this, I would have placed this cushion for you.”I was standing by Mukhtar’s bedside at that time. When it became clear to me that he was a liar, by Allah, I intended to draw my sword and cut off his neck. But then I remembered a hadith which ‘Amr bin al-Hamq (may Allah be pleased with him) had narrated to me, that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Whoever gives a Muslim security for his life and then kills him afterwards, I am free from the killer.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: When Allah intends good for a servant, He uses him. Someone asked, "What is meant by using him?" He replied: The door of righteous deeds is opened for him before his death, until the people around him become pleased with him.
