Abdullah bin Abu Nuhaik narrates: I met Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) in the market, and he said: Are the traders the ones who earn? Are the traders the ones who earn? I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:“Whoever does not recite the Qur’an with a pleasant voice is not from among us.”

Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I am the first person who shot an arrow in the path of Allah, and I remember about myself that I was the seventh individual to support the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, we had nothing to eat except leaves and such things, which used to make our mouths sore. To the extent that any one of us would defecate just as a goat drops pellets. There was nothing mixed in it (i.e., it was completely dry). Now,“Banu Asad”criticize me in religious matters; if that is so, then I have gone astray and my deeds have been wasted.

Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Can any person not do this, that he earns one thousand good deeds every day?" So one of those sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: How can a person earn one thousand good deeds every day? The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "He should recite Subhan Allah one hundred times, and recite Allahu Akbar one hundred times, and this will become one thousand good deeds."
