حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عبيد الله بن ابي يزيد ، قال: سمعت ابن عباس ، يقول:" كنت فيمن قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ضعفة اهله من المزدلفة إلى منى" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: I was among those whom the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent early from Muzdalifah to Mina along with the weak members of his household.

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا مسعر ، وسفيان الثوري ، وغيرهما عن سلمة بن كهيل ، عن الحسن العرني ، عن ابن عباس ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قدم اغيلمة بني عبد المطلب من المزدلفة إلى منى، وجعل يلطح افخاذنا ويقول: " ابيني لا ترموا جمرة العقبة حتى تطلع الشمس" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent the young boys from Banu Abd al-Muttalib from Muzdalifah to Mina before the people. He (peace be upon him) gently placed his hand on our knees and said: "O my little children! Do not throw pebbles at Jamrat al-Aqaba until the sun has risen."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ، قال: سمعت سعيد بن جبير ، يقول: سمعت ابن عباس ، يقول: كنا مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في سفر، فخر رجل عن بعيره، فوقص فمات وهو محرم، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" اغسلوه بماء وسدر، وكفنوه في ثوبيه، ولا تخمروا راسه، فإنه يبعث يوم القيامة يهل، او قال: يلبي" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We were traveling with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when a man fell from his camel, his neck broke, and he passed away. He was in the state of ihram. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Give him a bath with water and lote tree leaves, and shroud him in his two garments. Do not cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment reciting the talbiyah." (The narrator is unsure about one word here.)

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن ابي حرة النصيبي ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مثله، وزاد فيه:" ولا تقربوه طيبا".
This narration is also transmitted with another chain, however, in it these additional words are present: "Do not apply perfume to him."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عمرو ، قال: اخبرني ابو معبد ، وكان من اصدق موالي ابن عباس، قال: سمعت ابن عباس ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب، وهو يقول: " لا يخلون رجل بامراة، ولا يحل لامراة ان تسافر إلا ومعها ذو محرم"، فقام إليه رجل فقال: يا رسول الله! إني اكتتبت في غزوة كذا وكذا، وإن امراتي انطلقت حاجة، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" انطلق فاحجج مع امراتك" . قال سفيان: كان الكوفيون ياتون ابدا عمر، ويسالونه عن هذا الحديث، يقولون: كيف حديث اكتتبت في غزوة كذا وكذا؟.
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, saying:“No man should ever be alone with a woman, and it is not permissible for any woman to travel except that she has a mahram relative with her.”A man stood up in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My name has been registered for such-and-such battle, and my wife is going for Hajj. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Go and perform Hajj with your wife.”Sufyan, the narrator, says: People from Kufa used to come to (my teacher) Amr ibn Dinar al-Makki and ask him about this hadith. He used to say: How is that hadith, in which it is mentioned that my name has been written for such-and-such battle?

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ، قال: اخبرني ابو الشعثاء جابر بن زيد ، قال: سمعت ابن العباس يقول: قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " من لم يجد نعلين، فليلبس خفين، ومن لم يجد إزارا، فليلبس سراويل" يعني وهو محرم.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying:“(The person in Ihram) who does not find shoes should wear socks, and the one who does not find an izar (waist-wrapper) should wear trousers (the narrator says: meaning the person in Ihram).”

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ، قال: اخبرني جابر بن زيد , انه سمع ابن عباس ، يقول: " صليت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالمدينة ثمانيا جميعا , وسبعا جميعا، فقلت: له يا ابا الشعثاء! اظنه اخر الظهر، وعجل العصر، واخر المغرب، وعجل العشاء، فقال: وانا اظن ذلك" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I performed eight rak‘ahs together and seven rak‘ahs together behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madinah Munawwarah. The narrator named ‘Amr bin Dinar al-Makki says: I asked (my teacher) Jabir bin Zayd,“O Abu Sha‘tha! I think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the Zuhr prayer and performed the ‘Asr prayer early, and delayed the Maghrib prayer and performed the ‘Isha prayer early.”He replied,“That is also what I think.”

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: اخبرنا ابو الزبير ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: " صليت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالمدينة من غير سفر ولا خوف ثمانيا جميعا , وسبعا جميعا، قلت: لم فعل ذلك؟ قال: قلت: اراد ان لا يحرج امته" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In Madinah Munawwarah, I performed eight rak‘ahs together and seven rak‘ahs together behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), other than during travel (i.e., in a state of residence) and without any fear. The narrator says: I asked my teacher,“Why did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) do this?”He replied: I think the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted that he should not put his ummah in difficulty.

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ، قال: اخبرني كريب ، عن ابن عباس ، قال:" بت ليلة عند خالتي ميمونة، فقام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من الليل فتوضا من شن معلق وضوءا خفيفا، وجعل يصفه ويقلله، فقمت فصنعت مثل الذي صنع ثم جئت، فقمت عن يساره فاخلفني، فجعلني عن يمينه، فصلى ثم اضطجع فنام حتى نفخ، ثم اتاه بلال، فآذنه بالصلاة، فخرج فصلى ولم يتوضا" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once, I stayed overnight at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during the night, performed ablution from a hanging water-skin, which was brief. Then Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) described its manner, saying: It was a little. So I also got up and did as the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had done. Then I came and stood on the left side of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he took me from behind him and made me stand on his right side. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer, then he lay down and slept until he began to snore. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and called him for prayer, and he went out, performed prayer, and did not perform ablution again.
