بَابُ جَامِعِ الْجَنَائِزِ
Comprehensive Chapter on Funerals
Hadith Number: 575
وحدثني مالك، عن علقمة بن ابي علقمة ، عن امه انها قالت: سمعت عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، تقول: قام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ذات ليلة فلبس ثيابه ثم خرج، قالت: فامرت جاريتي بريرة تتبعه، فتبعته حتى جاء البقيع فوقف في ادناه ما شاء الله ان يقف، ثم انصرف فسبقته بريرة، فاخبرتني فلم اذكر له شيئا حتى اصبح، ثم ذكرت ذلك له فقال:" إني بعثت إلى اهل البقيع لاصلي عليهم"
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and put on his clothes, then he went out. So I told my slave-girl Barirah to follow behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so she went until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Baqi' and stood near it for as long as Allah willed him to stand. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, and Barirah reached me before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did. I did not mention anything to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) until morning came. Then I mentioned it to him, and he said: "I was commanded to go to the people of Baqi' so that I may supplicate for them."

Hadith Number: 576
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، ان ابا هريرة ، قال: " اسرعوا بجنائزكم فإنما هو خير تقدمونه إليه او شر تضعونه عن رقابكم"
It is narrated from Nafi that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Hasten in carrying the funeral, for if it is good, you are taking it quickly towards goodness, and if it is bad, you are quickly removing it from your shoulders.
