Hadith Number: 308
Lady Aisha and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that during the illness of his death, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would repeatedly place his cloak over his face, and when he felt some relief, he would remove the cloak. In this state of distress and anxiety, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship." By saying this, he was warning the Ummah against such actions.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that (previously) when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer and we greeted him with salam, he would respond to it. When we returned from Najashi's place, we greeted (as before, during the prayer), but this time he did not respond. Rather, after completing the prayer, he said, "Where is there any opportunity for a person during prayer?"

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that previously, while performing prayer, we used to talk as well; anyone would speak to his brother regarding any need of his, until this verse was revealed: "Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer, and stand before Allah with devotion." (Al-Baqarah 2:238) Through this verse, we were commanded to remain silent during prayer.

Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me for a need of his (during the expedition of Banu Mustaliq). I went and returned after fulfilling the task. Then I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and greeted him with Salam, but he did not reply. Allah knows what came into my heart, and I thought to myself that perhaps the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was displeased with me because I had come late. I greeted him again, and when he did not reply this time either, my concern increased even more. Then I greeted him (for the third time), and now he replied and said: The reason I did not reply the first two times was because I was performing Salah, and at that time you were on your camel, and its direction was not towards the Qiblah, but rather towards another direction.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Last night, a rebellious jinn suddenly came to me; he wanted to disturb my prayer, but Allah Almighty gave me control over him. I thought of tying him to one of the pillars of the mosque so that you all could see him in the morning. Then I remembered the supplication of my brother Solomon: "O my Lord, grant me a kingdom such as shall not belong to anyone after me" (). Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) drove that devil away in disgrace.

Abu Hazim bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated that some people came to Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him). They were differing among themselves regarding which tree the wood of the Prophet’s pulpit (peace and blessings be upon him) was from. Therefore, Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about it. He said,“Allah is my witness, I know which wood the Prophet’s pulpit was made from, the very first day it was placed, and I also know when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on it for the first time. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a man to a certain woman from among the Ansar (Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) also mentioned her name) and told him to ask her to have her carpenter slave join together some wood for me, so that when I have something to say to the people, I may sit on it.”So she told her slave, and he made it from the wood of the tamarisk tree of Ghaba. That Ansari woman sent it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had it placed here. I saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer standing on it, he pronounced the takbir standing on it, and he bowed (ruku’) on it. Then he stepped back in reverse and prostrated at the base of the pulpit, and then did the same again. When he finished the prayer, he addressed the people and said,“O people, I did this so that you may follow me and learn to pray as I do.”
