Sunan Saeed bin Mansur
His (Allah's) saying: {O you who believe! Do not kill game while you are in the state of Ihram. And whoever among you kills it intentionally, the penalty is an equivalent from livestock...}
Hadith Number: 831
Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In the case of hunting again, the ruling of expiation will be imposed on him again.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding the verse: ﴿فَجَزَاءٌ مِثْلُ مَا قَتَلَ مِنَ النَّعَمِ﴾: When a Muhrim hunts, its expiation becomes obligatory upon him. If he possesses an animal similar to the one hunted, he should slaughter it and give its meat in charity. If he does not have such an animal, then the value of that animal will be assessed in dirhams, then the equivalent amount of grain will be calculated, and for every half sa’ he will fast one day. Here, by“grain”is meant“fasts,”and when grain is available, its expiation will also be considered available.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted: ﴿أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَطَعَامُهُ مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ﴾: Here, by «طَعَامُهُ» is meant such fish and the like which the sea throws towards the land.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: By «صَيْدُهُ» is meant the fish that is hunted, and by «طَعَامُهُ» is meant that which the sea throws out.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I went to Bahrain, and the people there asked me about the ruling on a fish that the sea throws onto the land. I instructed them that it is permissible to eat it. When I returned, I asked Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about this matter. He asked: What ruling did you give them? I replied: I told them it is permissible to eat it. He said: If you had said anything else, I would have beaten you with a whip. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: ﴿أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَطَعَامُهُ﴾ and said: «صَيْدُهُ» is that which is hunted directly, and «طَعَامُهُ» is that which the sea throws onto the land.

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Hunting is not lawful for you while you are in the state of ihram. Then he recited this verse: ﴿وَحُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ مَا دُمْتُمْ حُرُمًا﴾ meaning: And land game is forbidden to you as long as you are in the state of ihram.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَسْأَلُوا عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ إِنْ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِنْ تَسْأَلُوا عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَـزَّلُ الْقُرْآنُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا اللهُ عَنْهَا وَاللهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ * قَدْ سَأَلَهَا قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحُوا بِهَا كَافِرِينَ * مَا جَعَلَ اللهُ مِنْ بَحِيرَةٍ وَلا سَائِبَةٍ وَلا وَصِيلَةٍ وَلا حَامٍ وَلَكِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللهِ الْكَذِبَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لا يَعْقِلُونَ}
His (Allah's) saying: {O you who believe! Do not ask about things which, if made plain to you, may trouble you...}

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted:“Do not ask about things...”— what is meant by this are Bahirah, Sa’ibah, Wasilah, and Ham. Do you not see that Allah the Exalted said: Allah has not appointed any such thing among them. While ‘Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the verses, so they were forbidden from that. Then he said:“A people before you asked such questions, then they became disbelievers because of them.”That is, a people before you also asked such questions, then they denied them. Upon this, I said to ‘Ikrimah: Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) has narrated to me from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) contrary to this, so why do you say so? He said: Being unable to answer, yes, it is just as you say.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى اللهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ}
His (Allah's) saying: {O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. He who goes astray cannot harm you when you are guided...}
Hadith Number: 840
I heard Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) saying on the pulpit: People recite this verse but do not understand its correct meaning:“O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. He who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly guided.”That is, O believers! Worry about yourselves; if you are on the right path, then no misguided person can harm you. In reality, when people see evil but do not denounce it, and see the oppressor but do not stop him, then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will inflict a general punishment upon all of them.
