It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even the leader of ten people will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he will be bound; his justice will set him free or his oppression will destroy him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes responsibility for the affairs of ten people will come to Allah on the Day of Resurrection with his hands bound to his neck. His good deeds will set him free, or his bad deeds will destroy him. (This leadership) begins with blame, in the middle there is regret, and in the end, that is, on the Day of Resurrection, there is disgrace."

Amount of expenses for the caliph
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 362, Fiqh-based: ,1332
Abdullah bin Zareer Ghafari says that on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, we went to Syedna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). He presented khazeerah (as a feast), (this is a type of food prepared with minced meat and flour). We said: O Commander of the Faithful! If you had served the meat of duck and goose, (it would have been very good) and there is plenty of wealth available. He said: Ibn Zareer! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Only two bowls are lawful for the caliph: one bowl for his and his family's food, and one for feeding someone else."

Allah grants righteous rulers their own ministers
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 489, Fiqh-based: ,1333
Qasim bin Muhammad says that I heard from my aunt, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is put in charge of any matter and Allah intends good for him, He grants him a righteous minister who, if he forgets, reminds him, and if he remembers, helps him."

Adhering to the congregation
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 430, Fiqh-based: ,1334
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), while delivering a sermon at Jabiyah, said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood at a place like the one I am standing at and said: "Treat my companions well and deal with them kindly, then those who come after them, and then those who come after them. After that, there will come people who will swear oaths though they will not be asked to swear, and will bear witness though they will not be asked to bear witness. Whoever wants to attain a place in the middle of Paradise should adhere to the congregation, for indeed, the devil is with one person and is farther from two. No man should be alone with a (non-mahram) woman, for the third among them is the devil. A believer is one whose good deed pleases him and whose bad deed displeases him."

Staying away from congregation and fighting for misfortune is ruinous
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 983, Fiqh-based: ,1335
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever abandons obedience to the ruler and separates from the community and dies in that state, dies a death of ignorance. Whoever fights under a blind banner, becomes angry due to tribalism, calls towards tribalism, helps because of tribalism, and is killed, then he also dies a death of ignorance. And whoever comes out against my Ummah, killing the righteous and the wicked alike, does not avoid the believer, and does not fulfill the covenant of those with whom he has a covenant, then he is not from me and I am not from him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience (in lawful matters of the ruler), he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he will have no proof for himself. And whoever dies without having a pledge of allegiance on his neck, he dies the death of ignorance."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever is killed blindly under a banner, where he called for tribalism or helped on the basis of tribalism, then his being killed will be like the killing of the days of ignorance."

Matters for which allegiance (bay‘ah) is pledged
Numbering by, Al-Albani: 3418, Fiqh-based: ,1338
Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to obey him in hardship and ease, in what we like and dislike, to listen to his command and to give him preference over ourselves, and also that we would not dispute the matter (of leadership) with its rightful people, unless we see clear disbelief for which there is a clear proof from Allah, and (we pledged) that wherever we are, we will speak the truth and will not fear the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years. During the seasons of ‘Ukaz, Majannah, and Hajj, he would go to Mina and say to the people:“Who will give me refuge? Who will help me, so that I may convey the message of my Lord to the people and he will be granted Paradise?”When someone from Yemen or Mudar would come to Makkah, the people of your (the Prophet’s) tribe would meet him and say: Beware of such-and-such man of Quraysh (meaning Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him), lest he lead you astray. You (the Prophet) would be walking among their houses, and they would point towards you and identify you, until Allah Almighty sent us to you from Yathrib (Madinah). We gave you shelter and affirmed you. Our man would come to you, believe in you, and you would teach him the Noble Qur’an. Then he would return to his home, and through him, people would enter the fold of Islam, until in every neighborhood of the Ansar there was a considerable number of Muslims.
One day, all of them (the Ansar) consulted together and said: How long will we leave the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in this state, wandering in fear among the mountains of Makkah? After this consultation, during the Hajj season, seventy of us set out towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). It was agreed with him to gather at the pass of ‘Aqabah. We kept gathering there in pairs, until all of us were assembled. We said: O Messenger of Allah! Shall we pledge allegiance to you? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Pledge allegiance to me on the condition that you will listen and obey in both activity and inactivity, spend in both hardship and ease, enjoin good and forbid evil, speak for Allah’s sake and not fear the blame of any blamer regarding Him, and when I come to you, you will help me and protect me from (the harms) from which you protect yourselves, your wives, and your children. (If you do so) you will be granted Paradise.”
Upon hearing this, we stood up to pledge allegiance to you, but Sa’d bin Zurarah, who was the youngest among us, held your hand and said: O people of Yathrib! Wait a moment. We have come to him (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) considering him to be the Messenger of Allah, but remember, if you take him out of Makkah, the whole of Arabia will turn against you, your chiefs will be killed, and you will be devoured by swords. If you are patient in these trials, then fine; but if you fear cowardice, then clarify now, so that you may present your excuse before Allah.
We said: Sa’d! Move aside now. By Allah! We will neither leave nor break this pledge. We stood up, pledged allegiance to you, and you took the pledge from us, imposed some conditions upon us, and in return, granted us Paradise.
