Ali bin Hasan reports Mursal that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade hanging curtains on walls.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to the house of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), but upon seeing a curtain at the (house) door, he did not enter. Although (previously, the routine was that) whenever he came, he would first meet Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). When Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came home and found Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) sad and worried, he asked her: What has happened to you? She said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me, but did not enter (the house). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! It was very hard on Fatimah that you went there but did not go to her. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“What have I to do with the world? What have I to do with decoration?”Upon hearing this, he went to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and conveyed to her the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She replied: (O Ali!) Go and ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), what should I do with this curtain? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Tell Fatimah to send this curtain to the people of so-and-so.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not come near three persons: one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), one who is intoxicated, and one who is drenched in khaluq perfume."

Sayyidah Subay’ah Aslamiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Some women who had come from Syria visited Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She asked them:“Which people are you from?”They replied:“From the people of Homs.”Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked:“The ones who go to bathhouses?”They said:“Yes.”Then she said:“I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘It is forbidden for the women of my Ummah to enter bathhouses.’”One of those women said:“Can I comb my daughters’ hair with this drink?”She asked:“Which drink?”She replied:“This wine.”She said:“Would you like to comb with the blood of a pig?”She replied:“No.”She said:“This (wine) is like the blood of a pig.”

Sayyidah Umm Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with her) says: One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) met me and asked:“Umm Darda’! Where are you coming from?”I said: From the bathhouse. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Any woman who removes her clothes in a house other than her own tears apart the veil between herself and Allah, the Exalted.”

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gold and silk are permissible for the women of my Ummah, but forbidden for the men."

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a cloak whose collar was made of silk, then he (peace be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, (in exchange for this) there will be a collar of fire."

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to forbid his family from (wearing) jewelry and silk, and he used to say: "If you like to wear the jewelry and silk of Paradise, then do not wear these in this world."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears silk in this world will not be able to wear it in the Hereafter; whoever drinks wine in this world will not be able to drink it in the Hereafter; and whoever eats or drinks from gold and silver vessels in this world will not be able to eat or drink from them in the Hereafter." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This (silk) is the clothing of the people of Paradise, (wine) is the drink of the people of Paradise, and (gold and silver vessels) are the vessels of the people of Paradise."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (wearing) a gold ring and an iron ring.
