It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in one of the battles, and his finger was wounded and bleeding. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is only a finger that has bled, and it has faced this pain in the way of Allah."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the small flag of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was white and the large flag was black.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to confront the enemy at the time of the sun’s decline.

Uqbah bin Mughira narrates from his great-grandfather Makharraq, he says: On the day of the Battle of Jamal, I met Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was urinating in a horn. I said: If I have to fight with you, should I join you? He said: Fight under the flag of your own people, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked for a man to fight under the flag of his own people.

Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to prefer to travel on Thursdays.

‘Amir bin Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas narrates from his father that when Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the verdict regarding Banu Qurayzah that those (men) whose pubic hair had appeared should be killed, and their wealth and women and children should be distributed (as captives), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“(Sa’d) has given a judgment concerning them today that Allah, the Exalted, has given from above the seven heavens.”

Haibrah bin Maryam says that Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to the people and said: O people! Yesterday, such a man (Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him) departed from you, whom the former people could not surpass and the later people will not attain his (status). Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out an army, he would hand over the flag to him, and he would not return until victory was achieved. On his right side was Jibreel and on his left side was Mikaeel. He meant Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He did not leave behind any dirham or dinar, except for seven hundred dirhams, and even those remained because he intended to buy a servant.

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of Badr: "With one of you is Jibreel and with the other is Mikaeel, and Israfeel is also a very great angel who participates in battle or in the battle ranks."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out towards Badr and consulted the people, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave an opinion. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) consulted again, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave an opinion, and he (the Prophet) remained silent. An Ansari said: (O Ansar!) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wants to consult you. They said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you want to consult us? By Allah! We will not say as the Children of Israel said to Musa (peace be upon him): «فَاذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ» "(Musa!) You and your Lord, both of you go and fight, we are sitting right here." (5-al-Ma'idah:24) By Allah! If you drive the camels to Bark al-Ghamad, we will surely go along with you, O Messenger of Allah!

Sayyiduna Rifa‘ah bin Rafi‘ Zurqi (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked:“How do you regard the people of Badr among yourselves?”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied:“The most excellent among all Muslims.”He (Jibril) said:“Likewise are the angels who were present at the Battle of Badr (the most excellent among the angels).”
