It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, who says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Many people will wish that they had brought more sins." The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! Why is that? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "These will be the people whose sins Allah, the Exalted, will turn into good deeds."

Ubaydullah bin Jurayd narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When evil deeds are committed among a people, and those who do not commit evil are greater in number and stronger (and more honorable) than those who do, yet they still do not stop them, then it is near that Allah, the Exalted, will afflict all of them with a general punishment."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out and saw a tall dome and said: (What is this?) The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This belongs to such-and-such Ansari man. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent and kept this matter in his heart. When its owner came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and greeted him in the presence of the people, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. He greeted several times (but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept turning away). Eventually, the man realized the displeasure and aversion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He complained about this to the companions and said: By Allah! I find the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) strange and unfamiliar. They said: (Actually) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had gone out and saw your dome. So the man immediately returned to his dome and demolished it, leveling it with the ground. (Then) one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out and did not see the dome. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:“What happened to the dome?”The companions said: Its owner had complained to us about your turning away, and we explained the whole situation of your dislike to him, so he demolished it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Beware! Every building is a burden for its owner, except that for which there is no alternative.”

We went to visit our master Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him), who had seven scars on his body, to inquire about his health. He said: If I had not heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Do not wish for death," I would certainly have wished for death. He was repairing his wall (i.e., house, etc.), and in the meantime he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A man is rewarded for every kind of expenditure except for what he spends on this mud (i.e., there is no reward for building a house)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the people before you, there was a man who passed by a skull. He looked at it and began to speak to himself. Then he said: O my Lord! You are the Most Great and I am very weak; You are repeatedly forgiving and I am repeatedly sinning. Then he fell down in prostration before Allah. (A hidden voice came and) it was said to him: Raise your head; you are repeatedly sinning and I am repeatedly forgiving. So he raised his head and (Allah Almighty) forgave him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed a stick in front of him, another to one side, and then, a little farther away, placed a third stick. He then said: "Do you know what this is?" The companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is man, this is his death, and that is his hopes. He keeps pursuing his desires, but before he can attain them, death seizes him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a heap of filth, where the dead body of a young goat was lying. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Do its owners have any need for it?”The companions said:“O Messenger of Allah! If they had any need for it, they would not have thrown it away like this.”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“By Allah! This dead young goat is as worthless in the eyes of its owners, but the world is even more insignificant than this. So I do not want to find any of you in such a state that the world has destroyed him.”
