Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Indeed, the believer was created in such a state that he is afflicted by trials, repents much, and forgets much; but when he is admonished, he accepts the admonition.”

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the example of a person who does good deeds after committing evil deeds is like a man who is wearing a tight coat of mail that is choking him. (When such an evil person) does a good deed, one ring of it breaks; then when he does another good deed, another ring breaks; (this continues) until (the coat of mail) falls to the ground."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Indeed, you perform such deeds which, in your view, are finer than a hair (i.e., you consider them very insignificant), whereas during the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to count them among the destructive matters.

Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So avoid such sins which are not forgiven," and in another narration: "the sins for which there is no expiation." Whoever commits a breach of trust, that thing will be brought with him on the Day of Resurrection. And regarding the one who consumes usury (interest), it is warned that whoever consumes usury will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as insane and bewildered because of it." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the verse of the Qur'an: "Those who consume usury will not stand except as one stands whom the devil has driven to madness by (his) touch." __QUR_N__

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Avoid minor sins. (And do not consider them insignificant, reflect that) some people camp in a valley, one person brings a stick, and another brings one... (one by one, so many sticks are gathered that) they light a fire and bake bread with it. In the same way, if one is taken to account for minor sins, they too can destroy.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Beware of those sins which are considered insignificant. The example of those sins which are regarded as trivial is like a group of people who camped in a valley; one man brought a stick, another brought another stick, until (so many sticks were gathered that) they baked their bread with them. And indeed, when the reckoning of minor sins is taken from the one who committed them, they will destroy him.”

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "O Aisha! Avoid sins that are considered insignificant, for indeed, there will also be questioning from Allah regarding them."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he states that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sin prevails over the hearts, and in every glance there is the eagerness of Satan (to mislead)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we be held accountable for every word we speak?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Mu'adh bin Jabal! May your mother lose you, the thing that will throw people on their faces into Hellfire is nothing but the useless talk of their tongues."

Ata bin Yasar says: Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) towards Yemen. He (Mu'adh) said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me with some counsel. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Adopt taqwa (God-consciousness) as much as you are able, remember Allah near every stone and tree, and whenever you commit a bad deed, repent immediately. The repentance for a hidden sin should be done secretly, and the repentance for an open sin should be done openly."
