Allah’s command:“Take the station of Abraham as a place of prayer”
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was asked about a man who had performed Tawaf of the Ka'bah for Umrah but had not performed Tawaf (Sa'i) between Safa and Marwah, whether he could approach his wife (or not?). He replied that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came (from Madinah), performed Tawaf of the Ka'bah seven times (i.e., circumambulated the Ka'bah seven times), offered two rak'ahs of prayer behind Maqam Ibrahim, and performed Tawaf (Sa'i) between Safa and Marwah. And indeed, in the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) there is an excellent example for you.

`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered the Ka'bah, he supplicated in all its corners and did not pray until he came out of the Ka'bah. Then, when he came out, he prayed two rak'ahs facing the Ka'bah and said that this is the Qiblah.

Facing the qiblah wherever you are in prayer
Narrated by Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed facing Bayt al-Maqdis for sixteen or seventeen months. (Until Allah revealed verses 142 to 144 of Surah Al-Baqarah.) This hadith has already been mentioned before (see the Book: Explanation of Faith... Chapter: Establishing Prayer is part of Faith...). And the wording in both narrations is different.

Narrated Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount, facing in whichever direction it turned. But when he intended to offer an obligatory prayer, he would dismount and face the Qiblah.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered prayer. Ibrahim is the narrator from Alqamah, and Alqamah is the narrator from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with them), who says: I do not know whether the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) increased or decreased (something) in the prayer. Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had finished the prayer with salam, it was said to him,“O Messenger of Allah! Has something new happened in the prayer?”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,“What is that?”The people said,“You offered such and such amount of prayer.”So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drew his feet together, faced the qiblah, and performed two prostrations, then gave salam. Then, when he turned towards us, he said,“If any new command had been given regarding the prayer, I would have informed you (beforehand), but I am only a human being like you; just as you forget, I also forget. Therefore, when I forget, remind me, and when any one of you is uncertain in his prayer, he should try to determine what is correct and complete his prayer accordingly, then give salam and perform two prostrations (of forgetfulness).”

Rulings on qiblah and not repeating prayer if mistakenly faced elsewhere
Ameer-ul-Mu'mineen Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I agreed with my Lord in three matters. (Once) I said, "O Messenger of Allah! If only we could take the Maqam Ibrahim as a place of prayer." Then this verse was revealed: "And take the Maqam Ibrahim as a place of prayer." (Al-Baqarah: 125) And the verse of hijab was also revealed according to my wish. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! If only you would command your wives to observe veiling, because both righteous and wicked people speak to them." So the verse of hijab was revealed. And (once) the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered together out of excitement before him, so I said to them, "If he (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) divorces you, soon his Lord will give him better wives than you in your place." (At-Tahrim: 5) So this very verse was revealed.

Cleaning spit from mosque with hand
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw some spittle in the direction of the Qiblah, and it was displeasing to him. So much so that (the effect of anger) appeared on his blessed face. Then he (peace be upon him) stood up and cleaned it with his own hand. Then he said: "When any of you stands in his prayer, he is conversing with his Lord, or (he peace be upon him said) his Lord is between him and the Qiblah, so he should not spit in the direction of the Qiblah, but rather to his left side or under his foot." Then he (peace be upon him) took the edge of his sheet, spat in it, and rubbed it, and said: "Do like this."

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You think I cannot see you from the front, but by Allah, neither your humility nor your bowing is hidden from me, and indeed I see you from behind my back (as well)."
