Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing prayer (at noon) in the valley of Batha, and in front of him a spear (as a sutrah) was fixed.... This hadith has already passed (see the Book: Description of Prayer... Chapter: The Sutrah of the Imam is also the Sutrah of the Followers) and in this narration, Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that people stood up and began to take the hand of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and wipe it over their faces (for blessings). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that in the beginning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would let the hair of his forelock hang forward, while the polytheists would part their hair. The People of the Book would let their hair hang, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in matters where no command had come, preferred to agree with the People of the Book rather than the polytheists. Then after that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to part his hair.

Narrated from Ummul Momineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was given a choice between two matters, he would choose the easier of the two, as long as it was not sinful. If it was sinful, he would keep away from it more than anyone else. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never took revenge for his own sake, but when the limits of Allah were transgressed, he would take revenge for the sake of Allah.
