Delaying suhoor.
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We took sahur with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then stood up for the morning prayer. I (the narrator) asked: How much time was there between (sahur and the prayer)? He said: The time it takes to recite fifty verses. (The interval between finishing sahur and the call to prayer was about ten minutes.)

The dawn that makes food forbidden for the fasting person.
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not let Bilal’s (may Allah be pleased with him) call to prayer and the long whiteness in the sky deceive you regarding suhoor, until it spreads out like this. And (the narrator of the hadith) Hammad spread his hands out to the sides in this manner.

About Allah’s saying:“Until the white thread becomes distinct from the black thread.”
Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when this verse was revealed:“Eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread”{ البقرہ: 178 }, a man who intended to fast would tie two threads to his foot, one white and the other black, and would continue eating and drinking until he could distinguish between the black and the white by looking at them. Then Allah the Exalted revealed the words“from the dawn,”and then people understood that by threads was meant the night and the day.

Bilal gives adhan at night, so eat and drink.
`Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had two muezzins. One was Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and the other was Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him), who was blind. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so keep eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer. The narrator said that there was not much time between the two calls to prayer, only as much as it took for one to descend and the other to ascend.

Fasting while in a state of janabah (major impurity).
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa and Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with them) say that in Ramadan, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity due to intercourse, not a wet dream, and then he would fast.

Narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, while Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) was listening from behind the door. The man said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The time for prayer comes upon me while I am in a state of major impurity (junub), so should I fast?”The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied,“The time for prayer comes upon me as well while I am in a state of major impurity, then I fast.”The man said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You and we are not the same, because Allah Almighty has forgiven your past and future sins.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied,“By Allah, I hope that I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of those things from which one must abstain.”(So, the questioner thought that perhaps this ruling was specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that this ruling applies equally to him and to everyone. And from this hadith, it is understood that a servant can never be exempt from religious obligations and the requirements of servitude in any condition. And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“I hope,”this is the perfection of servitude, otherwise, in reality, the rank of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is such that he is the most knowledgeable and God-fearing of all creation.)

Expiation for intercourse during Ramadan.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I am ruined." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "What has ruined you?" He replied, "I had intercourse with my wife during Ramadan." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Can you free a slave (male or female)?" He said, "No." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Can you fast for two consecutive months?" He said, "No." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Can you feed sixty poor people?" He said, "No." (Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, says) Then he sat down until a basket of dates was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Take this and give it as charity to the poor." He said, "Is there anyone poorer than me between the two black rocky plains of Madinah? In fact, there is no household in this area more in need than mine." The Prophet (peace be upon him) laughed (may my parents be sacrificed for you, may I circle around you) until his blessed teeth became visible. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Take it and feed it to your family."
