مختصر صحيح مسلم
Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim
Prohibition of cursing.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: Man hurts Me; he says, "Woe to the misfortune of time." So none of you should say, "Woe to the misfortune of time," because I am time; I bring the night and the day. When I wish, I will end the night and the day. (Since Allah Almighty is the Creator of night and day, to curse the night and day, that is, time, is in fact to curse Allah.)
`Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: Do not revile time, for Allah Himself is time (that is, time can do nothing; the One who acts is Allah alone).
Prohibition of cursing time.
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: None of you should threaten his brother with a weapon, for he does not know, perhaps Satan may cause his hand to slip (and the weapon strikes), and thus he falls into a pit of Hell because of killing his brother.
No one should point a weapon at his brother.
`Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) instructed a person who was distributing arrows near the mosque that when he carries arrows, he should hold them by their pointed (i.e., sharp) end.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you passes through the mosque or the market and has arrows in his hand, he should hold them by their tips. Then hold them by their tips, then hold them by their tips (he said this three times for emphasis). Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, we did not die until we had placed the arrows at each other's faces. (That is, we fought among ourselves and acted against the instruction of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.)
Carry arrows by their heads in the mosque.
`Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you fights with his brother, he should not strike him on the face.
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When one of you fights with his brother, he should avoid striking his face, for Allah created man in His own image. (This attribution is an honorific, just as the Ka'bah is attributed to Allah, i.e., the House of Allah.)
Prohibition and warning against cursing animals.
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey, and an Ansari woman was riding a she-camel. The she-camel became restless, so the woman cursed it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard this and said, "Unload whatever is on this she-camel and leave her, for she is accursed." Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "It is as if I am seeing that she-camel now, wandering about, and no one among the people paid any attention to her."
It is disliked for a person to be one who curses.
Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Those who curse others will neither intercede for anyone nor bear witness on the Day of Resurrection.
`Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that it was said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Pray against the polytheists." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "I have not been sent to curse people, but rather I have been sent as a mercy (for them)."
