مختصر صحيح مسلم
Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim
All believers are like one person in mercy and compassion.
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion is like that of a single body; when any limb of it suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever. (In the same way, when a calamity befalls a believer, especially one caused by the disbelievers, all believers should feel restless and strive to remedy it.)
A Muslim is a brother to another; he does not oppress or humiliate him.
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not envy one another, do not artificially raise prices, do not harbor enmity against one another, and none of you should make a sale over the sale of his brother. And be, O servants of Allah, brothers to one another. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not wrong him, nor does he humiliate him, nor does he look down upon him. Piety and righteousness are here—and he (peace be upon him) pointed to his chest three times (meaning, a person is not truly pious by outward good deeds until his heart is pure). It is enough evil for a man to hold his Muslim brother in contempt. All things of a Muslim are forbidden for another Muslim: his blood, his wealth, and his honor.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Verily, Allah does not look at your appearances or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.
On concealing others' faults.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah conceals (the faults of) a servant in this world, He will also conceal (his faults) in the Hereafter. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Whoever conceals the fault of a servant in this world, Allah will conceal his fault (on the Day of Resurrection).
On interceding for those present.
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that when someone would come to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a need, he (peace be upon him) would say to his companions: "Intercede, you will be rewarded, and Allah will decide upon the tongue of His Prophet whatever He wills."
The example of a good companion.
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of a musk seller and a blacksmith. The musk seller will either give you some as a gift, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a pleasant fragrance from him. As for the blacksmith, he will either burn your clothes, or you will have to smell a bad odor from him. (That is, the effects of good and bad companions are reflected upon a person.)
Advice regarding neighbors.
Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Gabriel (peace be upon him) kept advising me to treat the neighbor well, to the extent that I thought he would make the neighbor an heir."
Giving special attention to neighbors in goodness.
`Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my beloved friend (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me that when you cook meat, make the broth plentiful and look to the people of your neighbor's house and give them some of it.
`Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Do not consider any act of kindness and goodness to be insignificant (that is, there is reward in every small or big act of kindness), and it is also an act of kindness that you meet your brother with a cheerful face.
On gentleness.
`Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he (peace be upon him) used to say: Whoever is deprived of gentleness is deprived of goodness.
