Abu Murrah, the freed slave of Umm Hani, narrated (she was the daughter of Abu Talib), that she told him that she went riding with Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) to his land which was in a place called Al-Aqiq. When he entered his land, he called out loudly: O my mother! «عَلَيْكِ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ» She said: «وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ» He said: «رَحِمَكِ اللَّهُ رَبَّيْتِنِي صَغِيرًا» So she said: «يَا بُنَيَّ، وَأَنْتَ فَجَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا وَرَضِيَ عَنْكَ كَمَا بَرَرْتَنِي كَبِيرًا» Musa says that the name of Abu Hurairah was Abdullah bin Amr.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: "Shall I not inform you of the greatest of the major sins?" The companions said: "O Messenger of Allah! Certainly." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Associating partners with Allah and disobedience to parents." He (peace and blessings be upon him) was reclining, then he sat up and said: "Listen, and false speech." He (peace and blessings be upon him) kept repeating it until I said: I wished he would be silent.

It is narrated from Abu Tufail that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) tell you anything that he did not tell anyone else among the people?" Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not tell us anything that he did not tell others, except what is in the sheath of my sword." Then he took out a scroll (from the sheath of the sword), and it was written in it: "May Allah curse the one who sacrifices in the name of other than Allah, may Allah curse the one who steals the boundary marker of the land, may Allah curse the one who curses his parents, may Allah curse the one who gives shelter to an innovator."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me regarding nine things. They are: Even if you are cut into pieces or burned, do not associate anything with Allah; never deliberately abandon the obligatory prayer, for whoever deliberately abandons it, the protection (of Allah and His Messenger) is lifted from him; never drink alcohol, for it is the key to every evil; obey your parents, even if they command you to give up your worldly possessions (meaning, hand over all your belongings to them), then do so for their sake; do not dispute with the rulers, even if you think you are entitled (i.e., you alone are upon the truth); never flee from the battlefield, even if you are killed and your companions flee; spend on your family from your wealth; do not withhold your stick from your family (meaning, maintain the disciplinary rod for their upbringing); and keep warning them about Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: «‏إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلاَهُمَا فَلاَ تَقُلْ لَهُمَا أُفٍّ» "If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them 'uff'..." up to His saying: «كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا‏» "...as they brought me up when I was small." This was abrogated by the verse of Surah Bara’ah: «مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا أُولِي قُرْبَى مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ» "It is not for the Prophet and those who believe to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they are close relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are the companions of the Fire."

Hadith Number: 18
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Four verses of the Qur’an were revealed about me. My mother had sworn an oath that she would neither eat nor drink until I left the company of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). At that time, Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: «وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ عَلَى أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلاَ تُطعهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا» “And if they both strive to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them, but accompany them in this world with kindness.”The second verse: I took a sword that I liked. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Grant it to me as a gift. Upon this, the following verse was revealed: «‏يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ» “They ask you about the spoils of war.”And the third verse: I fell ill. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I want to distribute my wealth among the poor and needy. May I bequeath half of my wealth? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“No.”I said: What about a third? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent, but after him, bequeathing a third became permissible. And the fourth verse: I drank wine with some of the Ansar, and one of them struck my nose with a camel’s jawbone. I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and Allah the Exalted revealed the verse regarding the prohibition of wine.

It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), my mother came to me, inclined towards Islam. I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Should I maintain ties of kinship with her? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes." Ibn Uyaynah says that Allah the Exalted then revealed this verse: «‏لاَ يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ» "Allah does not forbid you from those who have not fought you because of religion, to deal kindly and justly with them."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silk cloak being sold and said: O Messenger of Allah! Buy this and wear it on Fridays or when a delegation comes to you. He (the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "Such clothing is worn by those who have no share (in the Hereafter)." Then some cloaks of that kind were brought to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم , and he sent one cloak to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). So Umar said: How can I wear it when you have already said what you had to say about it? He (the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "I did not give it to you so that you wear it yourself, but so that you may sell it and benefit from it, or dress your women with it." So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent that cloak to his brother in Makkah, and he had not yet accepted Islam.
