Hadith Number: 34

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed «وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ» "And warn your nearest kindred," the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and called out: "O Banu Ka'b bin Lu'ayy! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu 'Abd Manaf! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu Hashim! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Fatimah bint Muhammad! Save yourself from the Fire. I have no power to save you from Allah; however, there is a relationship and connection between us, and I will continue to fulfill its rights."

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created the creation and finished with it, the bond of kinship stood up." Allah said: "What is the matter?" It said: "This is the place of one who seeks refuge with You from being cut off." Allah said: "Are you not pleased that I will keep ties with the one who keeps ties with you, and I will cut off the one who cuts you off?" The bond of kinship said: "Yes, O my Lord! I am pleased." He said: "This is for you." Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you wish, recite this verse: «فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ» "Then, would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your ties of kinship?"
