Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that he was present on the occasion of Eid with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them all); all of these noble persons used to lead the prayer before the sermon, without any call to prayer (adhan) or call to stand (iqamah).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Eid prayer as two rak‘ahs, and in both rak‘ahs the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited only Surah Al-Fatihah and did not add any other surah to it (most likely, due to being far from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), the voice did not reach him).

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that in the plain of Arafat, a spear was fixed in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer with it in front of him, while donkeys were passing behind that spear (because the spear was being used as a sutrah).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of the Battle of Ta’if, when the people of Ta’if were besieged, two of their slaves came out and joined the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set them free, one of whom was Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person, when approaching his wife for intimacy, recites this supplication: «بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي الشَّيْطَانَ وَجَنِّبْ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنِي» 'In the name of Allah, O Allah! Protect me from Satan and protect whatever offspring You grant us as a result of this meeting from Satan,' then if it is decreed that they have a child, Satan will never be able to harm that child."

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once (I met Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them), he asked me, "Have you gotten married?" I replied, "No." He said, "Get married." Some time passed after this. When we met again, he asked the same question, "Have you gotten married now?" I again replied in the negative. Upon this, he said, "Get married, because the best person in this Ummah (i.e., the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) had many wives (so you should at least marry one, if not four)."

This time Jibreel Amin (peace be upon him) has delayed coming to you."
