It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to keep a miswak with him even while sleeping, and when he would wake up, the first thing he would do was use the miswak.

Abdul Wahid Banani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I was with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both. A man came to him and said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! I am buying these gardens, and there will be grapes in them. Can we not sell only the grapes until we squeeze them?" Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: "It is as if you are asking me about the price of wine. I will narrate to you a hadith which I heard from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Once we were sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when suddenly he raised his head towards the sky, then lowered it and began to scratch the ground, and said: 'Destruction is for the Children of Israel.' Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, 'O Messenger of Allah! We have become anxious after hearing this from you about the Children of Israel.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'It will not harm you. The real matter is that when fat was made unlawful for the Children of Israel, they unanimously agreed to sell it and began to eat its price. In the same way, the price of wine is also unlawful for you.'"

In every condition, all praise is due to Allah. O Allah! O Lord of everything! Owner and Deity of everything! Everything belongs to You alone. I seek refuge in You from the Hellfire."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that in the year of the Battle of Tabuk, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) near the ruins and houses of the destroyed people of Thamud. The people drank water from the wells from which the people of Thamud used to drink, kneaded dough with it, and even put meat in pots to cook. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found out, he ordered the people to overturn the pots and feed the kneaded dough to the camels. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved on from there and camped at the well from which the she-camel of Salih (peace be upon him) used to drink water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade entering the ruins of the punished people and said: "I fear that the same punishment may befall you as befell them, so do not go there."
