Abu Bakr bin Abi Juham says that Zaid bin Hasan was coming along, and between us was Ibn Rumana walking in such a way that we had straightened our shoulders for his sake, and he was leaning on them as we entered the Prophet’s Mosque. There, a companion of the Prophet, our master Abu Burdah bin Niyar, was sitting. He sent for me, and when I reached him, he said: I saw Ibn Rumana among you, leaning on you and Zaid bin Hasan as he walked. I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: The world will not perish until it belongs to a vile son of a vile man.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suhail bin Bayda that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I was sitting behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called out loudly two or three times: "O Suhail bin Bayda!" Each time I replied, "Labbaik (I am present)." The people also heard this voice and thought that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted them to hear this as well, so everyone gathered. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah, Allah will make the fire of Hell forbidden for him and will make Paradise obligatory for him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Salamah, who was among the Companions of Badr, that we had a Jewish neighbor among the Banu Abd al-Ashhal. One day, shortly before the Prophet’s ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) appointment, he came out of his house and stopped by the gathering place of Banu Abd al-Ashhal. At that time, I was young and had wrapped myself in a sheet, lying in the courtyard of my house. That Jew began to speak about resurrection after death, the Day of Judgment, the reckoning, the weighing of deeds, and Paradise and Hell. He was saying this to those idolaters and polytheists who did not believe in life after death. So they said to him,“O so-and-so, woe to you! Do you think that people will be resurrected after death and transferred to a place called Paradise or Hell, where they will be recompensed for their deeds?”He replied,“Yes, by the One in whose name oaths are sworn, I would prefer that a huge oven be kindled in this world, and I be put into it and it be closed over me, rather than face the Fire of Hell tomorrow.”The people asked,“What is the sign of this?”He replied,“The sign is a Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) who will be sent from these lands,”and he pointed towards Makkah and Yemen. They asked,“When will he appear?”The Jew looked at me, for I was the youngest among them, and said,“If this boy lives, he will surely see him.”Sayyiduna Salamah says,“Not even a full day and night had passed before Allah sent His Messenger. That Jew was still alive among us. We believed in the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), but he persisted in disbelief out of arrogance and envy. We said to him, ‘O so-and-so, woe to you! Are you not the one who gave such a long speech about this Prophet?’ He replied, ‘Yes, but I will never believe in him.’”
