باب بر الأم
Chapter: Dutifulness to the Mother
Hadith Number: 3
حدثنا ابو عاصم، عن بهز بن حكيم، عن ابيه، عن جده، قلت: يا رسول الله، من ابر؟ قال: ”امك“، قلت: من ابر؟ قال: ”امك“، قلت: من ابر؟ قال: ”امك“، قلت: من ابر؟ قال: ”اباك، ثم الاقرب فالاقرب.“
Hazrat Bahz bin Hakim narrates from his father, from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah, may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! With whom should I show good conduct?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your mother." I said, "(Then) with whom should I show good conduct?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your mother." I said, "Then with whom should I show good conduct?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your mother." I said, "Then with whom should I show good conduct?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your father, then the next closest relative to you, then the next closest after that."
