باب ما جاء فى فضل الفقراء المساكين والترغيب فى حبهم ومجالستهم
Chapter on what has been narrated regarding the virtue of the poor and needy, and encouragement to love and sit with them
Hadith Number: 9322
عن ابي ذر رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ((يا ابا ذر انظر ارفع رجل في المسجد)) فنظرت فإذا رجل عليه حلة قال قلت هذا قال ((انظر اوضع رجل في المسجد)) قال فنظرت فإذا رجل عليه اخلاق قال قلت هذا قال فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ((والذي نفسي بيده لهذا افضل عند الله يوم القيامة من ملء الارض مثل هذا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Dharr! Look, who is the most exalted person in the mosque? He says: I looked and suddenly saw a man who was wearing fine clothes. I said: This is the one. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Now look, who is the lowest-ranked person in the mosque? I looked and saw a man wearing tattered clothes. I said: Yes, this is the one. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul! This (low-ranked) man will be better in the sight of Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection than that (exalted) man and the likes of him filling the earth.
