أَوَّلُ مُسْنَدِ الْبَصْرِيِّينَ
First Part of Musnad of the Basrans
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
And from the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub about the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 20108
حدثنا روح ، حدثنا سعيد ، عن قتادة ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " منهم من تاخذه النار إلى ركبتيه، ومنهم من تاخذه إلى حجزته، ومنهم من تاخذه إلى ترقوته" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the people of Hell, there will be some who will be engulfed by the fire up to their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their hips, and some will be engulfed up to their collarbones.

Hadith Number: 20109
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا عمر بن إبراهيم ، حدثنا قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة , عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من وجد متاعه عند مفلس بعينه، فهو احق به" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever finds his own goods with a person whom the government has declared bankrupt, he has a greater right to them.
تخریج الحدیث:
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، عمر بن إبراهيم فى روايته عن قتادة خاصة ضعف، وقد خولف، وهذا المتن صحيح، لكن من حديث أبى هريرة
Hadith Number: 20110
وعن سمرة، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " الميت يعذب بما نيح عليه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The deceased is punished because of the lamentation that is done over him.

حكم دارالسلام: صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف، عمر بن إبراهيم فى روايته عن قتادة خاصة ضعف، وقد خولف
Hadith Number: 20111
حدثنا حسن بن موسى ، حدثنا سعيد بن بشير ، حدثنا قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة ، قال:" امرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ان نعتدل في الجلوس، وان لا نستوفز" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to be moderate in sitting and not to sit with restlessness.

حكم دارالسلام: حسن لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف سعيد بن بشير، والحسن لم يصرح بسماعه
Hadith Number: 20112
حدثنا سريج بن النعمان ، حدثنا الحكم بن عبد الملك ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " احضروا الجمعة، وادنوا من الإمام، فإن الرجل ليتخلف عن الجمعة حتى إنه ليتخلف عن الجنة، وإنه لمن اهلها" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Attend the Friday prayer and stay close to the Imam, for a person who keeps staying behind from Jumu'ah keeps staying behind from Paradise, even though he is deserving of it.

Hadith Number: 20113
حدثنا روح ، حدثنا اشعث ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من صلى صلاة الغداة، فهو في ذمة الله، فلا تخفروا الله تبارك وتعالى في ذمته" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs the Fajr prayer comes under the protection of Allah, so do not take Allah’s protection lightly.

حكم دارالسلام: صحيح لغيره، وهذا إنساد ضعيف، الحسن لم يصرح بسماعه
Hadith Number: 20114
حدثنا روح من كتابه، حدثنا سعيد بن ابي عروبة ، عن قتادة ، قال: حدث الحسن ، عن سمرة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " سام ابو العرب، ويافث ابو الروم، وحام ابو الحبش" ، وقال روح ببغداد من حفظه:" ولد نوح ثلاثة: سام، وحام، ويافث".
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sam is the ancestor of the Arabs, Ham is the ancestor of the Abyssinians, and Yafith is the ancestor of the Romans.

Hadith Number: 20115
حدثنا سليمان بن داود الطيالسي ، حدثنا عمران ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " نهى ان يخطب الرجل على خطبة اخيه، او يبتاع على بيعه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a person should send his proposal of marriage over the proposal of his brother, or sell over his sale.

Hadith Number: 20116
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا هشام ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إذا نكح وليان فهي للاول، وإذا باع اثنان فالبيع للاول" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a woman is married by two guardians at different places, then she will belong to the one who did it first, and whoever buys the same thing from two different men, then it will belong to the one who bought it first.

Hadith Number: 20117
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا عمر بن إبراهيم ، حدثنا قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة , عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " لما حملت حواء طاف بها إبليس، وكان لا يعيش لها ولد، فقال: سميه عبد الحارث، فإنه يعيش , فسموه عبد الحارث، فعاش، وكان ذلك من وحي الشيطان، وامره" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Hazrat Hawwa (peace be upon her) became pregnant, Satan came to her. None of her children would survive. Satan said to her: Name your child ‘Abdul Harith’ and he will live. So she named her child ‘Abdul Harith’ and he survived. This happened due to the whispering and suggestion of Satan.
