حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 20991
حدثنا عبد الله، قال: سمعت بعض اصحابنا، يقول: عن علي بن المديني ، قال: قال لي سفيان بن عيينة : عندك حديث احسن من هذا واجود إسنادا من هذا، قال: قلت: ما هو؟ قال: حدثني عبيد الله بن ابي يزيد ، عن ابيه ، عن ام ايوب ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نزل على ابي ايوب، فذكر هذا حديث الثوم، قال: قلت له: نعم، شعبة، عن سماك بن حرب، عن جابر بن سمرة، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نزل على ابي ايوب، فسكت.
Ali bin Madini says that Sufyan bin Uyaynah said to me, "Did you have the previous hadith with a better chain than this?" I asked him for the hadith, so he mentioned the previous hadith with his chain. I replied in the affirmative and mentioned my chain, so he became silent.

Hadith Number: 20992
حدثنا ابو كامل ، حدثنا حماد ، اخبرنا سماك ، قال: سمعت جابر بن سمرة ، وقيل له: اكان في راس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم شيب؟ قال: " لم يكن في راسه ولا في لحيته إلا شعرات في مفرق راسه، إذا دهنهن واراهن الدهن" .
Someone asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the white hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him), so he replied that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had a few white hairs on his head. When he applied oil to his head, the whiteness of the hair was not apparent.

Hadith Number: 20993
حدثنا ابو كامل ، وبهز ، قالا: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن سماك ، قال ابو كامل ، اخبرنا سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، ان رجلا كان بالحرة معه اهله وولده، فقال له رجل: إني اضللت ناقة لي، فإن وجدتها فامسكها، فوجدها، فمرضت، فقالت له امراته: انحرها، فابى، فنفقت، فقالت له امراته: قددها حتى ناكل من لحمها وشحمها، قال: حتى استامر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاتاه فاخبره، فقال له" هل لك غنى يغنيك؟" قال: لا، قال:" فكلوها"، قال: فجاء صاحبها بعد ذلك، فقال: الا كنت نحرتها؟ قال: استحيت منك .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man lived with his father in Harrah. Someone said to him, "My she-camel has run away. If you find her, catch her and bring her back." Coincidentally, that man found her, but her owner did not return until the she-camel became ill. His wife said to him, "Slaughter her so that we can eat her," but he did not do so until the she-camel died. His wife then said, "Skin her so that at least we can cut her meat into pieces for fat." He said, "I will first ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired, "Do you have enough that you can do without this she-camel?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then go and eat it." After some time, her owner also came and, after hearing the whole incident, said, "Why did you not slaughter her?" He replied, "I felt shy before you."

حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف، تفرد به سماك بن حرب، ومثله لا يحتمل فى مثل هذا المتن
Hadith Number: 20994
حدثنا ابو كامل ، حدثنا شريك ، عن سماك ، عن جابر بن سمرة ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " رجم يهوديا ويهودية" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the punishment of stoning for a Jewish man and woman.

Hadith Number: 20995
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا إسرائيل ، ويحيى بن آدم ، حدثنا إسرائيل ، عن سماك بن حرب ، انه سمع جابر بن سمرة ، يقول: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " يصلي الصلوات كنحو من صلاتكم التي تصلون اليوم، ولكنه كان يخفف، كانت صلاته اخف من صلاتكم، وكان يقرا في الفجر الواقعة ونحوها من السور" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead the same prayers as you pray today, but he would lighten the prayer and his prayer was lighter than your prayer, and in the Fajr prayer he would recite Surah Waqi’ah and similar surahs.

Hadith Number: 20996
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا إسرائيل ، وابو نعيم ، حدثنا إسرائيل ، عن سماك ، انه سمع جابر بن سمرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ليفتحن رهط من المسلمين كنوز كسرى التي قال ابو نعيم: الذي بالابيض"، قال جابر: فكنت فيهم، فاصابني الف درهم .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A group of Muslims will emerge and they will extract the white treasure of Kisra and the family of Kisra.

Hadith Number: 20997
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا إسرائيل ، عن سماك ، انه سمع جابر بن سمرة ، يقول:" كان مؤذن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يؤذن ثم يمهل حتى إذا راى نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قد خرج، اقام الصلاة حين يراه" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) muezzin would give the adhan, he would wait for a while and would not say the iqamah until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) coming out. When he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would then begin the iqamah.

Hadith Number: 20998
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا إسرائيل ، عن سماك ، انه سمع جابر بن سمرة ، يقول:" كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قد شمط مقدم راسه ولحيته، فإذا ادهن ومشط لم يتبين، وإذا شعث راسه تبين، وكان كثير الشعر واللحية"، فقال رجل: وجهه مثل السيف؟ قال: لا، بل" كان مثل الشمس والقمر مستديرا"، قال ورايت" خاتمه عند كتفه مثل بيضة الحمامة، يشبه جسده"..
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that there were a few white hairs on the front part of the head of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he applied oil to his head, the whiteness of the hair was not apparent, but when he did not apply oil, the whiteness became visible. The hair on the head and beard of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was thick. Someone asked whether his face was shining like a sword? He replied, "No, rather it was shining like the moon and the sun, and it was round in shape." And I saw the Seal of Prophethood on the blessed back of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it was the size of a pigeon’s egg and resembled the rest of his body.

Hadith Number: 20999
حدثنا ابو النضر، حدثنا إسرائيل، حدثنا سماك، عن جابر بن سمرة ، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قد شمط، فذكر معناه.
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, Simak narrated to us, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had some gray hair, and he mentioned its meaning.

Hadith Number: 21000
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، وخلف بن الوليد ، قالا: حدثنا إسرائيل ، عن سماك ، انه سمع جابر بن سمرة يقول: صلى بنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صلاة الفجر، فجعل يهوي بيده قال: خلف يهوي في الصلاة قدامه، فساله القوم حين انصرف، فقال:" إن الشيطان هو كان يلقي علي شرر النار ليفتنني عن صلاتي، فتناولته، فلو اخذته ما انفلت مني حتى يناط إلى سارية من سواري المسجد، ينظر إليه ولدان اهل المدينة" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading us in the Fajr prayer when, during the prayer, he was seen trying to catch something with his hand. After finishing the prayer, the people asked about it, so he said that Satan was bringing flames of fire before me in order to spoil my prayer. I was catching him; if I had caught him, he would not have been able to free himself from me until he would have been tied to one of the pillars of the mosque and the children of Madinah would have seen him.
