It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has written five things in the creation of every servant: his age, his deeds, his abode, his fate, and his sustenance.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Allah Almighty has written five things in the creation of every servant: his age, his deeds, his effects, his sustenance, and whether he will be wretched or blessed.

Abdur Rahman bin Ghanm (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once he went to "Hims" to meet Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and stayed with him for a few days. Then, upon his order, a saddle was placed on his donkey. Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I will go with you as well." So, upon his order, a saddle was also placed on his donkey, and both of them mounted their respective rides and set off. On the way, they met a man who had performed the Friday prayer the previous day with Hazrat Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) at Jabiyah. He recognized both of them, but they did not recognize him. He told them about the conditions of the people there, then said, "There is one more piece of news, but I do not feel good about telling you because I think it will burden you." Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Perhaps Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) has been exiled?" He said, "Yes! That is the news." Upon this, Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companion recited "Inna lillah" about ten times. Then Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You should wait and be patient just as it was said to the people of the she-camel (the people of Thamud). O Allah! If these people are denying Abu Dharr, then I am not among those who deny Abu Dharr. O Allah! If they are accusing him, then I do not accuse him. O Allah! If they are overpowering him, then I am not doing so, because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to consider him trustworthy at a time when he did not consider anyone else trustworthy. At that time, he would go to him himself when he would not go to anyone else. By the One in whose hand is the life of Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), even if Abu Dharr were to cut off my right hand, I would never bear any malice towards him, because I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Under the shade of the sky and upon the face of the earth, there is no man more truthful than Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him).'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the occasion of battle in the city of Ghouta, the camp (center) of the Muslims will be beside a city called "Damascus."

Abu Abdur Rahman Salmi says that a man came to Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "My wife is my paternal uncle's daughter. I love her very much, but my mother orders me to divorce her." He replied, "I command you to divorce your wife and not to disobey your mother. However, I will tell you a hadith which I heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): 'The mother is the middle gate of Paradise; now if you wish, keep to it, or if you wish, leave it.'"

It is narrated from Thabit or Abu Thabit that a man entered the mosque of Damascus and made this supplication: O Allah! Grant me a companion in my solitude, have mercy on my estrangement, and grant me a good friend. Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) heard his supplication and said: If you are making this supplication sincerely, then I am more fortunate than you in this supplication. I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying in the explanation of this verse of the Holy Qur'an: "Among them are those who wrong themselves" that the reckoning of the wrongdoer will be taken at his own place, and that will be his grief and sorrow. "Among them are those who are moderate" meaning some people will be of a middle rank, their reckoning will be easy. "And among them are those who are foremost in good deeds by Allah's permission" these are the people who will enter Paradise without reckoning.

Hazrat Anas Jahni (may Allah be pleased with him) once came to Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and prayed for him, saying, "May Allah keep you safe from every illness and grant you health." Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a Muslim person continues to suffer from headaches and other illnesses, and his sins are as great as the mountain of Uhud, but these illnesses do not leave him until there is not even a mustard seed's weight of sin left upon him."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ghusl or attains purity and does it well, wears fine clothes, applies perfume or oil, then comes for Jumu'ah, does not engage in idle talk, does not push between two people, all his sins will be forgiven until the next Jumu'ah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once on a Friday, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah Bara'ah from the pulpit. At that time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing and mentioning the favors of Allah. Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting in front of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with him were Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) also sitting. One of them pinched Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Ubayy! When was this Surah revealed? I am hearing it just now." Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) signaled him to remain silent. After the prayer was over, he said, "I asked you when this Surah was revealed, so why did you not tell me?" Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Today your prayer is only as much as the vain act you did in it." He went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned what Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) had said. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ubayy has spoken the truth. When you see the Imam speaking, remain silent until he finishes."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Seek out your weak ones and bring them to me, for you are granted provision and victory through the blessings of your weak ones."
