Musnad of the Ansar
حَدِيثُ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Buraydah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 22975
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا بشير بن مهاجر ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " تعلموا، فإن اخذها بركة، وتركها حسرة، ولا يستطيعها البطلة، تعلموا عمران، فإنهما هما الزهراوان، يجيئان يوم القيامة كانهما غمامتان، او غيايتان، او كانهما فرقان من طير صواف، تجادلان عن صاحبهما" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the gathering of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Learn Surah Al-Baqarah, for acquiring it is a blessing and leaving it is a cause of regret, and the wrongdoers cannot withstand it. Then after remaining silent for a while, he said: Learn both Surah Al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran, for these two radiant Surahs will provide shade to their reciters on the Day of Resurrection in the form of clouds, canopies, or two flocks of birds, and they will argue on behalf of their reciters.

Hadith Number: 22976
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا بشير بن المهاجر ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يجيء القرآن يوم القيامة كالرجل الشاحب، فيقول لصاحبه: انا الذي اسهرت ليلك، واظمات هواجرك" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when a person's grave will be split open, the Qur'an will meet its reciter in the form of a lean man and will say to him: I am your companion, the Qur'an, who kept you thirsty in the intense heat of the afternoons and kept you awake at night.

Hadith Number: 22977
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن علقمة بن مرثد ، عن سليمان بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " حرمة نساء المجاهدين على القاعدين كحرمة امهاتهم، وما من رجل من القاعدين يخلف رجلا من المجاهدين في اهله فيخونه فيها، إلا وقف له يوم القيامة، فياخذ من عمله ما شاء، فما ظنكم؟" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The sanctity of the women of the Mujahideen is like that of their mothers for those who stay behind waiting for Jihad. If any person among those who stay behind becomes responsible for the family of a Mujahid and then betrays that trust, he will be made to stand before that Mujahid on the Day of Resurrection, and the Mujahid will take from his deeds whatever he wishes. Now what do you think?

Hadith Number: 22978
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن علقمة بن مرثد ، عن سليمان بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا بعث اميرا على سرية او جيش، اوصاه في خاصة نفسه بتقوى الله، ومن معه من المسلمين خيرا، وقال: " اغزوا بسم الله في سبيل الله، قاتلوا من كفر بالله، فإذا لقيت عدوك من المشركين، فادعهم إلى إحدى ثلاث خصال، او خلال فايتهن ما اجابوك إليها، فاقبل منهم، وكف عنهم ادعهم إلى الإسلام، فإن اجابوك فاقبل منهم، ثم ادعهم إلى التحول من دارهم إلى دار المهاجرين، واعلمهم إن هم فعلوا ذلك، ان لهم ما للمهاجرين، وان عليهم ما على المهاجرين، فإن ابوا واختاروا دارهم، فاعلمهم انهم يكونون كاعراب المسلمين، يجري عليهم حكم الله الذي يجري على المؤمنين، ولا يكون لهم في الفيء والغنيمة نصيب، إلا ان يجاهدوا مع المسلمين، فإن هم ابوا، فادعهم إلى إعطاء الجزية، فإن اجابوا فاقبل منهم، وكف عنهم، فإن ابوا فاستعن الله، ثم قاتلهم" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, appointed someone as the commander of a detachment or an army, he would especially advise him to fear Allah regarding himself and would emphasize that he treat the Muslims who were with him in the best manner. Then he would say: Fight in the name of Allah, in the way of Allah, and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. When you meet your enemy from among the polytheists, invite them to three things. If they accept any one of them, accept it from them and refrain from fighting them. First, invite them to Islam. If they accept, then accept it from them. Then invite them to migrate from their land to the land of the Muhajireen, and inform them that if they do so, they will have the same rights and responsibilities as the Muhajireen. If they refuse and prefer to remain in their own land, then inform them that they will be considered like the Bedouin Muslims; the commands of Allah will apply to them as they apply to all Muslims, but they will not have any share in the spoils of war unless they participate in jihad with the Muslims. If they refuse this, then invite them to pay the jizya. If they accept, then accept it from them and refrain from fighting them. But if they refuse even this, then seek help from Allah and fight them.

Hadith Number: 22979
حدثنا وكيع ، عن سفيان ، عن علقمة بن مرثد ، عن سليمان بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من لعب بالنردشير، فكانما غمس يده في لحم خنزير ودمه" ، ولم يسنده وكيع مرة.
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever plays with dice, it is as if he has dipped his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig.

Hadith Number: 22980
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا الوليد بن ثعلبة الطائي ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ليس منا من حلف بالامانة، ومن خبب على امرئ زوجته او مملوكه، فليس منا" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He is not one of us who swears an oath upon a trust, and whoever incites a woman against her husband or a slave against his master, then he is not one of us.

Hadith Number: 22981
حدثنا وكيع ، حدثنا دلهم بن صالح ، عن شيخ لهم، يقال له: حجير بن عبد الله الكندي ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ان النجاشي اهدى إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم خفين اسودين ساذجين، " فلبسهما، ثم توضا، ومسح عليهما" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Negus, the king of Abyssinia, presented two plain black socks as a gift to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore them and wiped over them while performing ablution.

Hadith Number: 22982
حدثنا يزيد ، حدثنا المسعودي ، عن علقمة بن مرثد ، عن ابن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، إني احب الخيل، ففي الجنة خيل؟ قال: " إن يدخلك الله الجنة، فلا تشاء ان تركب فرسا من ياقوتة حمراء تطير بك في اي الجنة شئت، إلا ركبت"، واتاه رجل آخر، فقال: يا رسول الله، افي الجنة إبل؟ قال:" يا عبد الله، إن يدخلك الله الجنة، كان لك فيها ما اشتهت نفسك، ولذت عينك" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the court of the Prophet and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I love horses very much, so will there be horses in Paradise?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If Allah admits you into Paradise and you wish to ride a horse of red ruby and roam wherever you wish in Paradise, then that too will be provided for you to ride." Then another man came and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will there be camels in Paradise?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Servant of Allah! If Allah admits you into Paradise, then there you will have everything that your heart desires and that which will delight your eyes."

حكم دارالسلام: حديث ضعيف من أجل اختلاط المسعودي، والاختلاف فى اسناده على علقمة بن مرثد
Hadith Number: 22983
حدثنا ابو عبيدة الحداد ، حدثنا ثواب بن عتبة ، عن عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال:" كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الفطر لا يخرج حتى يطعم، ويوم النحر لا يطعم حتى يرجع" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not leave his house on the day of Eid al-Fitr without eating or drinking something, and on the day of Eid al-Adha, he would not eat or drink anything until he returned after performing the Eid prayer.

Hadith Number: 22984
حدثنا يونس ، حدثنا عقبة بن عبد الله الرفاعي ، حدثني عبد الله بن بريدة ، عن ابيه ، قال:" كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يغدو يوم الفطر حتى ياكل، ولا ياكل يوم الاضحى حتى يرجع، فياكل من اضحيته" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not leave his house on the day of Eid al-Fitr without eating or drinking something, and on the day of Eid al-Adha, he would not eat or drink anything until he returned after performing the Eid prayer.
