Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the spies of Musaylimah the Liar captured two Muslims and brought them before Musaylimah. He said to one of them: "Do you testify that Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) is the Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Yes!" He then asked: "Do you testify that Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) is the Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Yes!" He asked: "Do you testify that I am the messenger of Allah?" That Companion pointed towards his ears and said: "I am deaf." Musaylimah the Liar said: "What is your problem? When I ask you whether you testify that I am the messenger of Allah, you say that you are deaf?" So he ordered, and that Companion was killed.
Musaylimah the Liar then said to the other person: "Do you testify that Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) is the Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Yes!" He then asked: "Do you testify that I am the messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Yes!" So he let him go.
This person came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )! I am ruined!" The Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) asked: "What happened?" He narrated his and his companion's incident, so the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "In any case, your companion died in a state of faith, and as for you, you acted upon the concession."

Hazrat Tariq bin Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man entered Paradise because of a fly, and a man entered Hell because of a fly. It happened that two men passed by a people who were engaged in worshipping their idols. They said, "Today, no one will pass by us unless he offers something." So they said to one of the two, "Offer something." He refused, so he was killed. They said to the other, "Offer something." He said, "I have nothing with me." They said, "Offer something, even if it is a fly." The man thought to himself, "Should I offer only a fly?" And he offered a fly, so this person entered Hell. Upon this, Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This person entered Paradise because of a fly, and this person entered Hell because of a fly.
