It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that once my mother asked my father to give me something as a gift. He gave me that thing as a gift. She said that I will not be satisfied until you make the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to this. At that time, I was young. My father took my hand and went to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! The mother of this child, the daughter of Rawaha, has demanded from me that I give something as a gift to this child, so I have done so. She wants me to make you a witness to this." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Basheer! Do you have any other sons besides him?" He said, "Yes." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Have you given all your sons the same as you have given him?" He said, "No." So the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not make me a witness to this, for I cannot be a witness to injustice."

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say with his own ears: The example of those who establish the limits set by Allah and those who are lenient regarding them is like a people who set out on a sea journey. Some of them sit in the lower part (of the boat) and some sit in the upper part. The people in the lower part have to go up to get water, and some water spills on those above. Seeing this, the people above say,“Now we will not let you come up; you cause us trouble.”The people below reply,“Fine, then we will make a hole in the bottom of the boat and get water from there.”Now, if the people above hold their hands and stop them from this, then all will be saved; otherwise, all will drown. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, he said: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Al-Sha'bi, from Al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of the one who stands by the limits of Allah..." and he mentioned it.

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Zakariya narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Amir say: I heard al-Nu'man ibn Bashir say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of the one who stands by the limits of Allah..." Then he mentioned the hadith.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the believers in their mutual love, compassion, and kindness is like that of a body; when one limb suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters. Whoever leaves these doubtful matters will easily be able to leave the unlawful. And the sanctities of Allah are His pastures, and whoever grazes his animals around the pasture is at risk of entering it. Remember, there is a piece of flesh in the body; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Remember! That is the heart."

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Zakariya narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Amir say: I heard al-Nu'man ibn Bashir say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of the believers..." and he mentioned the hadith.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to straighten the rows in the same way as arrows are straightened.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that I know the time of the 'Isha prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) better than anyone else. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer this prayer on the third night at the beginning of the month after the moon had set.
