It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man began to peep through a hole into the blessed chamber of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a comb in his blessed hand, with which he was combing his hair. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If I had been sure that you were looking, I would have struck your eyes with this comb. The command for seeking permission has only been given because of the gaze."

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was present in the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when a husband and wife invoked mutual imprecation (li'an) against each other. At that time, I was fifteen years old. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah! If I keep her with me, it is as if I have made a false accusation against her." Then the child born to that woman had the appearance which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had expressed dislike for.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that once there arose a difference of opinion between two men from Banu Khudrah and Banu Amr bin Awf regarding the identification of the mosque which was founded on piety from the very first day. The opinion of the man from Amr was that it referred to Masjid Quba, while the man from Khudrah believed it referred to Masjid Nabawi. Both of them came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked about it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), deciding the matter, said: "It refers to my mosque."

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was some discord among certain Ansari people, for the reconciliation of whom the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went. When the time for prayer came, Hazrat Bilal came to Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Abu Bakr! The time for prayer has come, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not present here. Should I give the adhan and say the iqamah, and you step forward to lead the prayer?" After Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) finished the prayer, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Bakr! What prevented you from staying in your place?" He replied, "How could the son of Abu Quhafa dare to step ahead of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the people, "Why did you clap your hands?" They replied, "So that we could inform Abu Bakr." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Clapping is for women, and saying 'Subhan Allah' is for men."

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware even of minor and insignificant sins, for their example is like that of people who camped in a valley; one person brought a stick, another brought another stick, and in this way they gathered enough to bake their bread. And when a person is taken to account for insignificant sins, they will destroy him."

And the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of myself and the Hour is like these two fingers." Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed a slight gap between his middle finger and his thumb. And he said: "The example of myself and the Hour is like two horses that are alike." Then he said: "The example of myself and the Hour is like that of a person whom his people have sent ahead as a scout. When he fears that the enemy will overtake him, he waves his garment to warn the people that the enemy has reached you." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That man is me."

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have seen those people who, due to the narrowness of their lower garments, used to tie knots of their garments around their necks like children, and they used to pray behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in this state. One day, someone said,“O group of women! Do not raise your heads from prostration until the men have raised their heads.”
