Riyah bin Harith says that a group came to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at "Rahbah" and said, "Peace be upon you, O our master." Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "How can I be your master while you are an Arab people?" They said, "We heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say at the place of Ghadir Khumm: 'Whoever's master I am, Ali is also his master.'" When those people left, I also followed them and asked, "Who are these people?" The people told me that they were some Ansari men, among whom was Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the time of decline (zawal), the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would always perform four rak'ahs. One day I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is this prayer that I see you consistently performing?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "At the time of decline, the gates of the heavens are opened and are not closed until the Zuhr prayer is performed. Therefore, I wish that a good deed of mine ascends to the heavens at that time."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites these words ten times: "La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, yuhyi wa yumit wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer," Allah Almighty will write ten good deeds for him for each time, forgive ten sins, raise him by ten degrees, and it will be as if he has freed ten slaves. And these will become his protection from the beginning to the end of the day, and no one will be able to do a deed that surpasses his on that day. And if he says it in the evening, it will be the same.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed on the lower floor of our house and I used to live on the upper floor. One day, water spilled in my room, so I and Umm Ayyub took a sheet and started drying the water so that it would not drip from the ceiling onto the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, fearfully, I went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! It is not appropriate that we stay above you; please move upstairs." So, on the order of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), his belongings—which were already very few—were moved upstairs. Then I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! The food you used to send me before, I would look at it and wherever I sensed the marks of your fingers, I would place my hand there. But today, in the food you sent me, even after looking, I did not see the marks of your fingers." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "That is correct. Actually, there was onion in it, and I do not like to eat it because of the angel who comes to me. However, you may eat it."

Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman says that I asked my father, Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him), that someone says whoever performs two rak'ahs in the mosque after Maghrib, it is not permissible unless he performs them at home, because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is among the prayers of the home." He asked, "Who says this?" I replied, "Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman." He said, "He has spoken well."
