Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man entered the mosque while the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was on the pulpit delivering the Friday sermon. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Have you performed the prayer?" He replied: "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then perform two rak‘ahs of prayer." The narrator named Sufyan says: The narrator named Abu Zubair mentioned in this narration that the name of that person was "Sayyiduna Sulaik bin Amr Al-Ghatafani (may Allah be pleased with him)."

The narrator named Hassan says: I saw Hasan bin Abu al-Hasan entering the "Wasit Mosque" on Friday while Ibn Hubayrah was delivering the sermon on the pulpit, so he first performed two rak'ahs and then sat down.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, we were 1400 in number. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Today, you are the best people on the face of the earth." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: If my eyesight were working, I would show you the place of that tree.

Muhammad bin ‘Abbad narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin ‘Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was performing Tawaf of the House of Allah: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit fasting on Friday? He replied: By the Lord of this House! Yes.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked,“O Jabir! Have you gotten married?”I replied,“Yes.”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked,“To a virgin or to a previously married woman?”I replied,“To a previously married woman.”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Why did you not marry a young girl so that she would be cheerful with you and you would be cheerful with her?”I replied,“O Messenger of Allah! My father was martyred on the day of Uhud. He left behind nine daughters, so I have nine sisters. I did not like to bring a young girl among them who would be of similar age to them. I wanted to bring a wife who would comb their hair and take care of them.”The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“You have done the right thing.”

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When I got married, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Jabir! Have you used carpets?" I replied, "O Messenger of Allah! Where would we get carpets from?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Soon you will have them."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whenever anything was asked from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he never said "no."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I fell ill and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit me. Both of them came on foot. I fainted. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked for water and performed ablution, then he poured it over me and I regained consciousness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! What should I decide regarding my wealth? What method should I adopt regarding my wealth? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent until the verse regarding inheritance was revealed.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The verse regarding inheritance (the command) was revealed about me.
Imam Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The narrator named Sufyan did not hear this narration from the narrator named Abu Zubair.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of the Trench, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) called for people (to spy on the enemy), so Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) volunteered himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for people again, and he volunteered himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for them again, so Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) volunteered himself. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is Zubair." Sufyan says: The narrator named Hisham bin Urwah has additionally reported these words: "He is my maternal cousin (Zubair)."
