What is Reported Regarding the Inheritance of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 1832
وحدثني مالك، عن ابي الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " لا يقتسم ورثتي دنانير، ما تركت بعد نفقة نسائي ومئونة عاملي فهو صدقة"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After me, my heirs will not distribute my inheritance. Whatever I leave behind, after providing for my wives and the expenses of my worker, is all charity."

بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِفَةِ جَهَنَّمَ
What is Reported Regarding the Description of Hell
Hadith Number: 1833
حدثني مالك، عن ابي الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " نار بني آدم التي يوقدون جزء من سبعين جزءا من نار جهنم"، فقالوا: يا رسول الله إن كانت لكافية، قال:" إنها فضلت عليها بتسعة وستين جزءا"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The fire of mankind which they kindle is one part out of seventy parts of the fire of Hell (i.e., the fire of Hell is sixty-nine times more intense and severe than this fire)." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This fire of the world would have been sufficient (for burning)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That fire is sixty-nine parts more than this fire."

Hadith Number: 1834
وحدثني مالك، عن عمه ابي سهيل بن مالك ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة ، انه قال: " اترونها حمراء كناركم هذه، لهي اسود من القار والقار الزفت"
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do you think the fire of Hell is red like the fire of this world? It is blacker than tar, and tar is called zift.

بَابُ التَّرْغِيبِ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ
Encouragement for Charity
Hadith Number: 1835
حدثني مالك، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، عن ابي الحباب سعيد بن يسار ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من تصدق بصدقة من كسب طيب، ولا يقبل الله إلا طيبا، كان إنما يضعها في كف الرحمن يربيها كما يربي احدكم فلوه او فصيله حتى تكون مثل الجبل"
It is narrated from Sa'id bin Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever gives charity from lawful wealth—and Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, accepts only lawful wealth—then He places that charity in the palm of Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He, and the Lord nurtures it, just as one of you raises his foal or the young of a camel, until that charity becomes like a mountain."

Hadith Number: 1836
وحدثني مالك، عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن ابي طلحة ، انه سمع انس بن مالك ، يقول: كان ابو طلحة اكثر انصاري بالمدينة مالا من نخل، وكان احب امواله إليه بيرحاء وكانت مستقبلة المسجد، وكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يدخلها، ويشرب من ماء فيها طيب، قال انس: فلما انزلت هذه الآية: لن تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا مما تحبون سورة آل عمران آية 92، قام ابو طلحة إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، إن الله تبارك وتعالى يقول: لن تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا مما تحبون سورة آل عمران آية 92، وإن احب اموالي إلي بيرحاء وإنها صدقة لله ارجو برها وذخرها عند الله، فضعها يا رسول الله حيث شئت، قال: فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" بخ، ذلك مال رابح ذلك مال رابح، وقد سمعت ما قلت فيه، وإني ارى ان تجعلها في الاقربين"، فقال ابو طلحة: افعل يا رسول الله، فقسمها ابو طلحة في اقاربه وبني عمه
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) was the wealthiest among the Ansar in Madinah, meaning he had the most date palm trees, and among all his wealth, he loved a garden called Bairuha the most, which was situated opposite the Prophet’s Mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go there and drink its pure water. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when this verse was revealed «﴿لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتّٰى تُنْفِقُوْا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوْنَ﴾ (آل عمران: 92)» meaning: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love," Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, says: «﴿لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتّٰى تُنْفِقُوْا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوْنَ﴾» and among all my wealth, I love Bairuha the most; I give it as charity in the way of Allah. I seek its goodness and reward from Allah, and Bairuha is a treasure with Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Well done! This wealth is a source of great reward, or a source of great profit, and I have heard what you have said about this wealth. In my opinion, you should distribute this wealth among your relatives." Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I will distribute it. Then Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) distributed it among his relatives and the sons of his paternal uncles.

Hadith Number: 1837
وحدثني مالك، عن زيد بن اسلم ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " اعطوا السائل وإن جاء على فرس"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Aslam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give to the beggar, even if he comes riding on a horse."

Hadith Number: 1838
وحدثني مالك، عن زيد بن اسلم ، عن عمرو بن معاذ الاشهلي الانصاري ، عن جدته ، انها قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" يا نساء المؤمنات لا تحقرن إحداكن ان تهدي لجارتها، ولو كراع شاة محرقا"
It is narrated from Hazrat Hawwa bint Yazid bin Sakan that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Muslim women! Let not any one of you consider insignificant the gift to her neighbor, even if it is only a burnt hoof of a goat."

Hadith Number: 1839
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك انه بلغه، عن عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ان مسكينا سالها وهي صائمة وليس في بيتها إلا رغيف، فقالت لمولاة لها:" اعطيه إياه"، فقالت: ليس لك ما تفطرين عليه، فقالت:" اعطيه إياه"، قالت: ففعلت، قالت: فلما امسينا اهدى لنا اهل بيت او إنسان، ما كان يهدي لنا شاة وكفنها، فدعتني عائشة ام المؤمنين، فقالت: " كلي من هذا، هذا خير من قرصك"
A poor man came to Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, asking for something, and she, may Allah be pleased with her, was fasting, and there was nothing in the house except one loaf of bread. She, may Allah be pleased with her, said to her slave-girl: Give this bread to the poor man. She replied: You have nothing for your iftar. She, may Allah be pleased with her, said: Give it. The slave-girl gave the bread to the poor man. In the evening, a portion of cooked goat meat came from a house. Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, called the slave-girl and said: Eat, this is better than your bread.

Hadith Number: 1840
وحدثني، عن مالك، قال: بلغني: ان مسكينا استطعم عائشة ام المؤمنين وبين يديها عنب، فقالت لإنسان: خذ حبة فاعطه إياها، فجعل ينظر إليها ويعجب، فقالت عائشة: اتعجب كم ترى في هذه الحبة من مثقال ذرة؟!
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that a poor person asked Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, and there were some grapes in front of her. She said to a man: "Pick up one grape and give it to him." The man looked on in astonishment. Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "One grape is equal to many particles (and even the reward of one particle will not be wasted)."

What is Reported Regarding Abstaining from Begging
Hadith Number: 1841
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن ابن شهاب ، عن عطاء بن يزيد الليثي ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، ان ناسا من الانصار سالوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فاعطاهم، ثم سالوه فاعطاهم حتى نفد ما عنده، ثم قال: " ما يكون عندي من خير فلن ادخره عنكم، ومن يستعفف يعفه الله، ومن يستغن يغنه الله، ومن يتصبر يصبره الله، وما اعطي احد عطاء هو خير واوسع من الصبر"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he gave them. Then they asked again, and he gave them again, until whatever he had was finished. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever wealth I have, I will not withhold from you. But whoever refrains from asking, Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will protect him; and whoever seeks to be content and shows self-sufficiency, Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will make him self-sufficient; and whoever is patient, Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will grant him patience. And no blessing has been given to people that is better and more expansive than patience."
