Hazrat Saeed bin Abi Burdah narrates from his father that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) sent his grandfather, Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), and Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) as governors to Yemen and said: Make things easy for the people, do not put them in difficulties. Give people glad tidings, do not make them averse to the religion, and both of you should be in agreement with each other. Upon this, Abu Musa Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted:“O Messenger of Allah! In our country, a wine is made from barley which is called ‘al-mizr’, and a wine is made from honey which is called ‘al-bita’.”The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Every intoxicating thing is forbidden.

Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that an Arab woman was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he ordered Hazrat Abu Usaid Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) to send someone to bring her. So he sent for her, and she came and stayed at the fortress of Banu Sa’ida, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also came and went to her. He saw that a woman was sitting with her head bowed. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to her, she said,“I seek refuge with Allah from you.”The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to this,“I have granted you refuge.”Later, people asked her,“Do you know who he was?”The woman replied,“No.”The people said,“That was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he had come to you for marriage.”Upon this, she said,“Then I am indeed unfortunate (that I turned away and displeased the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him).”On the same day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and sat with his companions in the Saqifah of Banu Sa’ida, then said,“Sahl! Serve water.”I brought out this cup for him and gave him water in it. (The narrator of the hadith said) Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) also brought out the same cup for us and we also drank water from it. The narrator stated that later, Caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) requested it from him, and he gifted it to him.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated against him, so his horse sank into the ground. He requested, "Pray to Allah for me (that I may be saved from this calamity); I will not harm you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed for him (and his horse came out of the ground). Hazrat Bara said that once, on the way, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) felt thirsty. Just then, a shepherd passed by. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that then I took a bowl and milked a little milk from one of the flock's goats. I brought that milk and presented it to the Prophet (peace be upon him), who drank it until I was pleased.
