Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Suwaid Al-Kahili narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite these two Surahs as Qunoot in Fajr. O Allah! We seek help from You and we ask forgiveness from You and we praise You excellently and we do not show ingratitude to You and we separate ourselves from and abandon the one who disobeys You. O Allah! We worship You alone and for You alone we pray and prostrate, and to You alone we run and in Your service alone we are present. We hope for Your mercy and we fear Your punishment. Surely, Your punishment is going to reach the disbelievers.

Hazrat Maymun bin Mihran narrates regarding the recitation of Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b as follows: O Allah! We seek help from You and we ask forgiveness from You, and we praise You in the best way, and we do not show ingratitude to You. And we separate ourselves from and abandon the one who disobeys You. O Allah! We worship only You, and for You alone we perform prayer and prostrate. And towards You alone we hasten and present ourselves for service. We hope for Your mercy and we fear Your punishment. Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair narrates that I heard Hazrat Umar bin Khattab reciting Qunoot Nazilah in the Fajr prayer as follows: O Allah! We seek help from You, and we believe in You. And we put our trust in You alone. We praise You excellently and we do not show ingratitude to You. O Allah! We worship You alone. And for You alone we perform prayer and prostrate. And to You alone we hasten and present ourselves in service. We hope for Your mercy and we fear Your punishment. Surely, Your punishment is to befall the disbelievers. O Allah! Punish the disbelievers among the People of the Book, those who hinder from Your path.

Hazrat Umar bin Katheer bin Aflah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say regarding a lost item: Perform ablution and offer two units of voluntary prayer, and recite the testimony of faith and these words: "O the One who guides those who are lost by Your name, and the One who returns the lost. Return my lost item to me by the means of Your honor and sovereignty. For it was only by Your grace and bounty that I had received it."

Hazrat Mujahid says that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Indeed, besides the guardian angels, Allah has some additional angels. When a leaf falls from a tree, they write it down. So when any of you faces any hardship during a journey, call out these words: Help of Allah's servants. May Allah have mercy on you.

The father of Hazrat Ja'far narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is a devil on the hump of every camel, so when you mount it, recite these words as Allah has commanded: "Glory be to Allah who has subjected this to us, and we could not have subdued it. And surely, to our Lord we shall return." And then serve it. For it is Allah alone who has provided the ride.

Hazrat Hamzah bin Amr narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely, there is a devil on every camel’s hump. So when you mount it, test it, and mention the name of Allah. Then do not hold back from fulfilling your needs.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Umrah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely, there is a devil on the hump of every camel. So when you ride it, mention the name of Allah. So serve it, for indeed Allah alone has provided the ride.

Hazrat Abu Majliz narrates that Hazrat Husain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man who mounted a ride and then recited this supplication: "Glory be to Allah Who has subjected this to us, and we could not have subdued it." So he (Hazrat Husain) said: "Were you commanded to recite it in this way?" He replied: "How should I recite it?" He (Hazrat Husain) said: "Say it like this: All praise is for Allah Who guided me to Islam. All praise is for Allah Who favored me through Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). All praise is for Allah Who made me among the best nation sent for the benefit of mankind. Then recite this supplication: Glory be to Allah Who has subjected this to us."
