Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will continue to ask questions upon questions, until it will even be asked: (It is true that) Allah Almighty created us, but who created Allah Almighty?" Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! One day I was sitting when an Iraqi man asked this very question and said: "This Allah Almighty, He created us, but who created Allah Almighty?" Muhammad bin Sirin, may Allah have mercy on him, says: I was with Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, when a man asked him a question. I do not know what that question was. In response, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: «اللّٰہُ أَکْبَرُ» Two people have already asked about this, and this is the third. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Indeed, people will continue to ask questions, until they even ask: 'Allah Almighty created the creation, but who created Him?'"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your father is Hudhafah." His mother said to him: "What was your intention with this question?" He replied: "My intention was to find comfort, as something was being said about it." But at that moment, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry. Seeing this, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as our Prophet. We seek refuge with Allah from the wrath of Allah and from the anger of His Messenger."
