Chapter: "It will not be by your wishful thinking"
Hadith Number: 8569
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man recited this verse: {مَنْ یَعْمَلْ سُوئً ا یُجْزَ بِہِ} … Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it. And then he said: If we are recompensed for every bad deed, we will be destroyed. When this matter reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Yes! (Recompense is given for every bad deed) but the calamity that afflicts the believers in this world, which causes them distress, is the recompense (for their sins).

Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I fell ill and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came on foot to visit me. I was unconscious, so I could not speak to you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and poured water over me, which made me regain consciousness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! What should I do with my wealth, while my sisters are my heirs? Then this verse regarding inheritance was revealed {یَسْتَفْتُونَکَ قُلِ اللّٰہُ یُفْتِیکُمْ فِی الْکَلَالَۃِ} … People ask you for a legal verdict. Say: Allah gives you a verdict concerning kalalah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and sprinkled water on my face, and I regained consciousness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I bequeath two-thirds of my wealth for my sisters? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do more. I said: Should I bequeath half of my wealth? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do more. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left me and then returned and said: O Jabir! I think you will not die from this illness. In any case, Allah Almighty has revealed the Qur’an and clarified the share of your sisters and has given them two-thirds. Sayyiduna Jabir used to say: This verse was revealed about me: {یَسْتَفْتُونَکَ قُلِ اللّٰہُ یُفْتِیکُمْ فِی الْکَلَالَۃِ}.
