قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالًا أَوْ رُكْبَانًا فَإِذَا أَمِنْتُمْ فَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُمْ مَا لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْلَمُونَ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {And if you fear [an enemy], then [pray] on foot or riding. But when you are secure, remember Allah as He has taught you that which you did not [previously] know.}

Dhahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if it is a state of war, or the enemy is pursuing him, or a wild animal is chasing him, then wherever he is facing, he should perform one rak‘ah at a time and perform bowing and prostration by gesture, and if even this is not possible, then he should say one or two takbirs.

Shu'ayb bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard 'Abdulwahhab bin Bakht al-Makki (may Allah have mercy on him) say: When the battle is intense, if possible, perform the prayer standing; otherwise, while riding; and if that is not possible, then say the takbir; and if even that is not possible, then at the very least, keep mentioning the prayer in your heart.

Al-Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sabiq Barbarī (may Allah have mercy on him) informed me that Makḥūl (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote a letter to us in Dābiq addressed to Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), in which he asked about those people who are in pursuit of the enemy. The reply came: If they are not in pursuit, they should pray on the ground, and if they are in pursuit, they should pray on their mounts.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا وَصِيَّةً لأَزْوَاجِهِمْ مَتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind—they, [the wives], shall wait four months and ten [days].}
Hadith Number: 415
Dhahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) says that previously, when a person passed away, his wife would be provided for during a whole year, then the heirs would distribute the inheritance. Then this verse was revealed: ﴿And those of you who die and leave wives behind, a bequest to their wives of maintenance for a year without being turned out﴾, then this ruling was abrogated and this verse was revealed: ﴿And those of you who die and leave wives behind, they shall wait by themselves for four months and ten days﴾, then regarding this ruling of four months and ten days, this verse was revealed: ﴿And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burden﴾, meaning if they give birth before that, their waiting period is completed.

Then he took the hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have given my garden as a loan to my Lord—and there were six hundred date palm trees in that garden—then he went towards his garden and called out: O Umm Dahdah! (and she was present in the garden), so she replied: Yes, I am here. He said: Come out, I have given it as a loan to my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic.
