-" رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يعجن في الصلاة. يعني: يعتمد".
Azraq bin Qais says: I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he would support himself with his hands to stand up in prayer. I said: Abu Abdur Rahman! What is this manner? He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he too would support himself with his hands to stand up in prayer.

-" دعها عنك ـ يعني الوسادة ـ إن استطعت ان تسجد على الارض وإلا فاوم إيماء واجعل سجودك اخفض من ركوعك".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), he says: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out to visit a sick person, and I was with him. When he reached him, (he saw that) he was praying on a piece of wood and (while prostrating) he was placing his forehead on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured towards it and threw the wood away. He then took a cushion, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Remove it. If you have the strength to prostrate on the ground, then fine; otherwise, pray by making gestures, and bow lower for prostration than for bowing."

-" الصلاة ثلاثة اثلاث: الطهور ثلث والركوع ثلث والسجود ثلث، فمن اداها بحقها قبلت منه وقبل منه سائر عمله ومن ردت عليه صلاته رد عليه سائر عمله".
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Prayer consists of three parts: one third is purification, one third is bowing (ruku'), and one third is prostration (sujood). Whoever performs the prayer as it should be performed, the rest of his deeds will also be accepted, and whoever's prayer is rejected, the rest of his deeds will also be rendered void."
