It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Charity is due from every joint of each of you; every time you say «سبحان الله» it is charity, and every time you say «الحمد لله» it is charity, every time you say «لا الہ الا اللہ» it is charity, and every time you say «اللہ اکبر» it is charity. Enjoining good is charity and forbidding evil is charity, and all of these can be replaced by the two rak‘ahs that a person prays at the time of Duha."

The wealthy have taken all the reward and merit, (in such a way that) whatever prayers, etc., they perform, we also perform, but they spend (in charity) and we cannot spend. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: "Shall I not tell you something, that if you act upon it, you will catch up with those who came before you and surpass those who come after you? (Do this:) After every prayer, say «سبحان الله» thirty-three times, «الحمد لله» thirty-three times, and «اللہ اکبر» thirty-four times."

He kept asking (for reduction) and kept praying, until only one lash remained (the rest were forgiven). When this one lash was given to him, his grave was filled with fire. When the effect (of the punishment) subsided and he regained consciousness, he asked, ‘(O angels!) For what reason did you lash me?’ They said, ‘You had once performed a prayer without ablution, and you passed by an oppressed person but did not help him.’”

Numbering by, Al-Albani: 2535, Fiqh-based: ,726

He (peace be upon him) was given a bow or a staff to lean on. Then he (peace be upon him) praised and glorified Allah Almighty, commanded the people regarding some matters, and forbade them from some things.

Numbering by, Al-Albani: 171, Fiqh-based: ,727
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man may perform prayer for sixty years, but none of his prayers are accepted. Perhaps this is because he completes the bowing (ruku') but does not complete the prostration (sujud), or he completes the prostration but does not complete the bowing."

Hilal bin Yasaf says: I went to Raqqah, and my companions said to me: Do you wish to meet a companion (of the Prophet)? I said: That would be a blessing. So we went to Sayyiduna Wabisah (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to my companion: Let us first observe his outward appearance. (What we saw was that) on his head was a cap with two flaps or two corners, and he was wearing a woolen, sleeved garment of a dusty color, and he was performing prayer while leaning on his staff. We greeted him with salam and asked (about taking support from a staff during prayer). He said: Sayyidah Umm Qais bint Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to me that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became old and his body became heavy, he would perform prayer while taking support from a pillar.

Asim bin Umar bin Qatadah narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: It was a very dark night, and it was raining. I said: I should take advantage of this night and perform the ‘Isha prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So I did so. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned (after leading the prayer) and was walking, leaning on a date-palm branch. When he saw me, he asked:“Qatadah! What happened to you! At this hour, here, (what is the reason)?”I said: O Messenger of Allah! I came with the intention of performing the prayer with you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave me that branch and said:“After you left, Satan entered your house. Take this branch, keep holding it until you reach your house, (when you reach home, then) catch Satan from behind the house and strike him with this branch.”I left the mosque, and that branch kept providing me light like a lamp. I reached my family, and they were all asleep. I saw a porcupine (an animal with long quills on its body) in a corner of the house. I kept striking it with the branch until it left.
