Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of some hair from the side of a camel from the war booty and said:“My share in this is the same as yours. Beware of dishonesty, for dishonesty will be a cause of disgrace for the dishonest person on the Day of Resurrection. Return even a thread, a needle, or anything of lesser value. Whether the journey is near or far, whether you are at home or traveling, strive in the path of Allah in every situation, for jihad is one of the gates of Paradise, and through it Allah relieves distress, regret, and sorrow. Establish the limits of Allah on everyone, whether they are relatives or not, and let not the blame of any blamer affect you regarding Allah.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever's intercession becomes a barrier to any of Allah's limits, he has opposed the command of Allah. Whoever dies while in debt, (let him remember that) on the Day of Resurrection there will be no abundance of dirhams and dinars; rather, there will be exchange of good and bad deeds. Whoever knowingly argues in favor of falsehood will remain in the wrath and anger of Allah until he desists. Whoever accuses a believer of a crime that is not found in him will be detained in «ردغة الخبال» (the pus of the people of Hell) until he performs such a good deed that can get him out from there."

Hakim bin Hizam says that Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) detained a landowner for some reason (and punished him). Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke to Abu Ubaidah regarding this matter. It was said to Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him): "Have you angered the leader?" Khalid bin Walid replied: "I did not intend to anger him; I only heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'On the Day of Resurrection, the person who inflicted the harshest punishments on people in the world will receive the severest punishment from Allah Almighty.'"

Sayyiduna Umair (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the slave of Abi al-Lahm, says: I came with my masters, our intention was to migrate, and we reached near Madinah. They themselves entered Madinah and left me behind. I was extremely hungry. Some people who were leaving Madinah passed by me and said: (It is better that) you go into Madinah and eat the fruits of the gardens. So I entered a garden and broke off two bunches filled with dates. (By Allah’s will) the owner of the garden arrived, took me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and told him the whole story. I was wearing two garments. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me:“Which garment is better?”I pointed to one of the garments. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“(This garment) you keep for yourself.”And he gave the other garment to the owner of the garden and set me free.
