It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are some servants of Allah who are neither prophets nor martyrs, but the prophets and martyrs will envy them because of their closeness to Allah and their sitting with Him." A Bedouin sat down on his knees and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Describe their qualities for us and make them clear to us." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They will be people of unknown lineage from unrecognized tribes, who will have mutual friendship for the sake of Allah and will love one another for His sake. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will place pulpits of light for them. Other people will be afraid, but they will have no fear. These are the friends (awliya) of Allah, about whom (according to the Divine statement): 'There will be no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most beloved to me among you and the closest to me in assembly on the Day of Resurrection will be the one among you who has the best character. And the most disliked to me among you and the farthest from me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who are talkative, those who put on airs in their speech, and those who are arrogant." The Companions said: We understand the meaning of «ثرثارون» and «متشدقون» , but who are meant by «متفيقهون» ? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The arrogant."

It is narrated from Husayn bin Abdur Rahman, he says: I heard Abu Ubaidah bin Hudhaifah, who narrates from his aunt, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: We, a few women, went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to nurse him. Due to the severity of the fever’s heat, a water-skin was hanging near him, its water was falling on him, and according to another narration, it was falling on the heart of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We said: O Messenger of Allah! If you pray to Allah, He will grant you healing. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“The people who are tested the most severely are the Prophets, then those nearest to them (in rank), then those nearest to them, and then those nearest to them.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Musa (peace be upon him) was a very modest and body-covering person. Because of his modesty, no part of his body could be seen. The people of Banu Isra'il who caused him harm said: This man covers himself so much because of some bodily defect; either he has leprosy, or his testicles are swollen, or there is some other affliction. Allah Almighty intended to clear Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) of the accusation they had made against him. One day, Musa (peace be upon him) went into seclusion and took off his clothes, placing them on a stone, and then bathed. When he finished and went to take his clothes, (what happened was that) the stone ran away with his clothes. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) picked up his staff and ran after the stone, saying: O stone! Give me my clothes! O stone! Give me my clothes! (Running and running) he reached a group of Banu Isra'il. They saw him in a naked state and found him to be the most handsome among Allah's creation and completely free from the defect they had accused him of. They themselves said: By Allah! There is no defect in Musa (peace be upon him). There the stone stopped, he took his clothes and wore them, and began to strike the stone with his staff. By Allah! Because of Musa (peace be upon him) striking it, there were three or four or five marks on that stone. And this incident is the manifestation of Allah Almighty's statement: «يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ آذَوْا مُوسَى فَبَرَّأَهُ اللَّـهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا وَكَانَ عِنْدَ اللَّـهِ وَجِيهًا» (33:69 Al-Ahzab) 'O you who believe! Do not be like those who harmed Musa, but Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was honorable in the sight of Allah.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The people of the tribe of Hawazin came on the day of Hunayn along with their women, children, camels, and goats. They lined them up in rows to show their numbers against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When the clash occurred between the Muslims and the polytheists, the Muslims turned their backs and fled, as Allah the Exalted has mentioned. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.”He further said:“O group of Ansar! I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.”Allah the Exalted defeated the polytheists; no one was wounded by a spear nor struck by a sword. On that day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever kills a disbeliever, then the spoils taken from him (the slain) will belong to the one who killed him.”Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) killed twenty men that day and took their wealth and belongings. Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! I struck a man on the tendon of his shoulder with my sword, and he was wearing armor. Before I could seize his spoils, someone else took them. O Messenger of Allah! Please see, who is that person? A man said: O Messenger of Allah! I took that wealth. Please satisfy Qatadah from your own side and let that wealth remain with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent, and whenever anything was requested from him, he would give it, or he would remain silent. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No, by Allah! (It will not happen that) Allah the Exalted has given wealth to one of His lions and you (O Prophet) give it to him. Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smiled.

Abdullah bin Abu Bakr narrates from an Arab, who says: On the day of Hunain, I bumped into the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and I was wearing heavy shoes on my feet. I stepped on the foot of the Messenger of Allah There was a whip in your hand, and you startled me with it and said: "In the name of Allah! You have hurt me." He said: I spent the night blaming myself, and I kept saying that I had hurt the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), and Allah knows that I spent the night (in great distress). When morning came, a man was saying: Where is so-and-so? I said: By Allah! (This announcement) is about the thing that happened from me yesterday. I set out, but I was frightened. (When we met,) the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said to me: "Yesterday you stepped on my foot with your shoe and hurt me, and I startled you with the whip. (Here,) take these (eighty) sheep in exchange for that whip."

Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Indeed, after me you will see people depriving you of your rights, and you will see things which you will disapprove of." The Companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do in such a situation?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fulfill their rights and ask Allah for your own rights."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the one who carries musk and the one who blows the bellows. The musk carrier will either give you some musk as a gift, or you will buy it from him, and if neither of these two things happens, at least you will get a good fragrance from him.
