Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the wife of Safwan bin Mu‘attal came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! When I pray, my husband Safwan beats me, and when I fast, he makes me break my fast, and he performs the Fajr prayer after sunrise. Safwan himself was present there. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him about his wife’s complaints, he said: As for her saying that I beat her for praying, the fact is that she recites two surahs, and I have forbidden her from doing so. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“If even one surah was sufficient, it would have sufficed for all people.”The husband said: As for making her break her fast, the reality is that I am a young man and I cannot be patient (from marital relations). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“In the future, no woman should fast (a voluntary fast) without her husband’s permission.”The husband said: She also complained that I perform the Fajr prayer after sunrise, but in our family, it is well known that we cannot get up before sunrise. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whenever you wake up, perform the prayer.”

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If the Qur'an is placed in a leather cover and thrown into the fire, it will not burn."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Qur'an will intercede and its intercession will be accepted; it will argue (on behalf of its reciters) and its argument will be confirmed. Whoever puts it before himself, it will lead him to Paradise, and whoever puts it behind his back, it will drive him into Hell."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The scriptures of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) were revealed on the first night of Ramadan, the Torah on the sixth of Ramadan, the Gospel after thirteen days of Ramadan had passed (that is, on the fourteenth), the Psalms on the twenty-ninth of Ramadan, and the Noble Qur'an after twenty-four days had passed (that is, on the twenty-fifth) of Ramadan."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to review the Qur'an with me once every year, and this year he did it twice. It seems that the time of my death has come, and you (Fatimah) will be the first among my family to join me. Therefore, fear Allah and be patient. I will be the best forerunner for you."

‘Amir bin Wathilah reports that Nafi‘ bin ‘Abd al-Harith met Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) at the place of ‘Usfan. He had appointed him as the governor over Makkah. He asked:“Have you appointed anyone as governor over the people of the valley?”He replied:“Ibn Abza.”He asked:“Who is Ibn Abza?”He replied:“He is one of our freed slaves.”He said:“You have made a freed slave their leader?”He replied:“He is a reciter of the Qur’an and knowledgeable about the laws of inheritance.”Be aware! Your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Allah elevates some people by means of this Book and lowers others by it.”

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best person in the matter of reciting the Qur'an is the one that when he is reciting, you feel that he fears Allah Almighty."

Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite the Qur'an as long as your hearts are united upon its (meanings), but when you begin to differ regarding its understanding, then stand up (i.e., stop reciting it together)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to love Allah and His Messenger should recite the Noble Qur'an by looking at the 'Mushaf'."

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Recite the Qur'an, for indeed it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection. Recite the two beautiful surahs: Al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they are two clouds, or two shades, or two flocks of birds with outstretched wings, pleading for those who recited them. Recite Surah Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing and abandoning it is a cause of regret, and the false ones cannot overcome it."
